Oral sex is always wrong for two reasons:
It is use of the Sexual gift outside of the Marriage union.
It is a sexual act that intentionally does not have the possibility of new life.
Normal intercourse (without contraception) would only be the use of the sexual gift outside of Marriage.

I'm not a Church authority, but as I understand it, premarital sex is always a mortal sin.
Oral sex is a mortal sin unless it is in the context of marriage and if the sexual act ends in vaginal intercourse. In that case, oral sex would be considered as fourplay and not something which replaces vaginal intercourse. Any sexual encounter between husband and wife should include penal to vaginal intercourse without artificial contraception.
For any mortal sin, a Catholic must first repent and ask God for forgiveness and then the Catholic must confess the sin to a priest in the Sacrament of Reconciliation before going up for communion.
This is a question and answer about oral sex:

I also highly recommend reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Oral intercourse or vaginal intercourse is still sex. I am Roman Catholic and I don't believe that only prostitutes perform or receive oral sex its another form of sex. Couples in relationships, one night stands, married couples have oral sex not just prostitutes. Don't do oral sex unless you are comfortable with the person and want to do it.

To certain religions, oral sex and vaginal intercourse before marriage are wrong. Any couples who do oral sex or vaginal intercourse is considered as having committed sins. However they can repent. God will forgive them if they repent.
That is the teaching of religion.
The only question left is whether people want to follow the teaching of the religion or want to create their own laws based on each person's common sense.
If we want to follow common sense only without looking at the true teaching of religion, there is where we find a lot of answers or opinions.
If we are religious persons, then we should follow the true teaching of our religion and not just use blind common sense.

The lesser of two evils is still evil.
Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."
Fornication, sex between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, is contrary to their human dignity and the dignity of human sexuality.
Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.
The purpose of sex is to bring a husband and wife closer and to create human life.
With love in Christ.

Premarital intercourse is worse than oral sex, and having unprotected oral sex is even worse, but still the lesser evil.

hmm.. well the part where you said "many of my friends practice oral sex and they don't see anything wrong with it as long as they remain virgins...." oral "sex" is sex. so if they have oral sex, they're not virgins anymore. i guess they're free to think what they want, but sex is sex. i personally don't find anything wrong with it, but to each our own.
(i'm not catholic by the way. i just wanted to state what i believed.)

i think its great! you probobally think its gross because you havent had it. everything anyone has ever told you was wrong or gorss is most likely incorrect (when it involves sex) i reccomend comeing to your own conclusions instead of just jumping to someone elses because thats what you were taught.
my girlfriend LOVES oral...recieving that is. and i love giving it. theres nothing gross about it.

They may not be having intercourse, but they are involved in fornication. They are in sin if they are not married. All sins are punishable with death. Pray for them.
