First of all, neither the Elephant nor the Lion lives in the jungle in Africa. They prefer savannas, grassy plains, open woodlands and scrub country. I'm not quite sure of the habitat of the Indian Elephant. But here in Africa, where the two species live together, I think the Elephant is overshadowing the Lion. Yes it is true that Lions can pray on the Elephant, but this usually only happens to the weak outsiders rejected by the herd. A adult Elephant can fight off up to 7 lionesses-which clearly makes the elephant the winner..Furthermore, the lion is weak on its own, and doesn't install to much fear in the rest of the animal kingdom. The Elephant is a truly majestic animal, and I believe, is the true king of the "jungle".

Lions don't live in the jungle, although they are traditionally considered king of the jungle. Elephants live in the same general areas as lions, so, neither is really a king of any jungle, except maybe if you called the savannah the "grass jungle", like a city can be called a "concrete jungle."

There are three types of elephants. Indian elephant in India (obviously) and two in Africa.. The forest and savannah elephants. Indian elephant is the largest, then savannah, and finally forest elephants. So elephants do live in the jungle. But when lions and elephants cross paths it is in savannah areas. Not sure if there are any lions in the jungle anymore.

It's actually the elephant. But I did see a documentary where a pack of lions actually succeeded to bring down an elephant. Apparently it was a very rare occasion though and the only time someone had ever witnessed it.

Lions are not only the kings of the jungle, they are the king of beasts. Plus they have cool hair and let their ladies do all the hard work. Leos all the way.

As elephants and lions generally don't live in jungles, I'd have to say neither.

i think its the lion..
the elephant may be physically huge but when it comes to muscular power and the ability to catch prey, the lion is far better.
and lions move faster so they can avoid hunters and other factors that may harm them unlike elephants who move slower.
