Hi all Yahoo-ers,.. I wanted to ask how to say things like,.. "Hello/Hi!", and,... "Goodbye", also; "thankyou",.. "Hope to hear from you soon".
I should point out, that I would be speaking to females,... whether it's any different for the sexes, I don't know but thought I should mention it anyway.
Thanks! :)

Do you mean Hindi? This is the language spoken in the North. But actually there are many languages spoken in the North (eg. Gujarati, Panjabi, Nepali, Bengali) and the South (eg. Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Senhalese) which have COMPLETELY different ways of saying the words you want.

Maybe if you know the area or the nearest city we could clarify what language you actually need.....

You Can't say anything in "Hindu" a Hindu is a person of that faith.
You probably mean "Hindi" which is one of the official languages
of India of which there are many.English being one of them.So if you want to talk to Indian people why not use English, easier for you and them. Sukria bhai.

If you are going to India and dont know Hindi, dont worry !!

Most cities (except the rural places and some areas in south) have English boards, signs and most people speak broken English if not proper English
