Both, it's declining in Europe and the U.S. but rising in the Third World. The success of Christianity is dependent on a poorly educated population, that's why the churches banned education of any kind in the past, and oppose the teaching of science today.

Declining. It can't go anywhere but down, with all the new advancements and discoveries being made in science. The "creation vs. evolution" debate isn't eternal; it will end within the next few generations. Evolution will finally be accepted among the vast majority of people as fact. There will also come a time, maybe in a couple hundred years, when both Christianity and Islam will be classified as mythology. Religion can put up a strong fight, but in the long run, science will win the war.

It is in a state of equilibrium.

The wonderful thing is that Christians don't have to worry about being KILLED just because they leave Christianity.

It is declining in USA, but growing at an ever increasing rate in other parts of the world, like Africa. Last year, over 6 MILLION Africans converted from Islam to Christianity. This has created alot of violence between countries like Somalia and Ethiopia

For some reason I think it's declining, not because many people are leaving the religion but because of all the killing if innocent christians who are not allowed to follow their own faith and are being prosecuted and killed by Islamic extremists.

I think it is having a brief resurgence in the US but decling elsewhere, with the possible exception of third world countries where missionaries are diligently trying to push their religion on the natives. Over the long haul, I think all religions will decline, but they'll cause a lot of problems in the world until then.

All religions are increasing in membership right now. Because they are seeing
signs mentioned in our Holy Writings.
Nevertheless, they are not doing it out of love for our Creator, or the spirit that lived
as Jesus Christ, but out of fear.
The Book says there will a "falling away first" before Christ returns. Many are in
for a rude awakening. Because they think they are going to escape any suffering by
being religious. But our Creator WILL test us, since He doesn't want to let a bunch
of SLACKERS back in to Heaven!

Rising. A lot of people are turning towards Christianity because of recent world epidemics. like cyclones, tsunamis, sars. of course, the outreaching to the community that many churches pour their hearts into. In a world of darkness, people search for truth, even more so when they are so many options laid before them. if you search for the answer with your heart, you'll find it. and many people find it, therefore Christianity is rising.

2Ti 3:1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
