wow... thats a lot of questions :)
**the first question might be a little tricky. do we pray before we eat? with myself and the muslims i know, we eat after we pray. Maghrib(sunset) prayer usually comes around dinner time so i always eat dinner after i pray Maghrib. this prayer is prayed as we pray in the mosque. most people say bismillah (in the name of God) before they eat though.
yes all prayers are begun by saying Allahu Akbar (God is great).
Do we all say the same prayers or ones we feel like saying?
for our obligatory prayers we do all say mostly the same things. except for which verses we recite. when we're done saying our obligatory prayers... we say our thought prayers of thanks repentance and request in our own language
shukran is thank you in Arabic.
peace be on you for your genuine interest

We say Bismillah before we eat......which is thanking god for what he has provided. Not the same as when we pray 5 times a day (which mostly are done at home not at mosque). We always start prayer with Allahu Akbar and we do all say the opening chapter then which ever verse from the quran we want ( unless following an imam at mosque or someone leading prayer at home they choose the verse) we have fixed things we say at each movement only things different in prayers are those two verses on the first and second rukkas. Thank you in Arabic is Shukeran ( pronounced shook er anne) My Arabic spelling is not wonderful so i may have spelled shukeran incorrectly but the phonic pronunciation is correct.

Shukran!
Yes, all True Believers pray before we eat!
We say "Bismillah ur rahman ur rahim"; but, no, not like the aazan or mosque prayer totally.
Yes, all say the same prayer and "Allahhu Akbar" is the beginning.
The muzzein's towers or minarets are in a position to help help him call the Faithful from all four directions.
Shukran is Arabic for Thank you.

Thank you = Sucran pronounced SHOE-Kran
Do you pray before you eat? yeah before after but not in between LOL
Allahu Akbar yes
And with all those minarets, are they used for calling people to prayer? If so, why have more than one?
They are pretty LOL. Usually they put speakers on the minarets (at least in Turkey, so people can hear from all directions)

In islam every action you do is a prayer. Not just going to the mosque and bowing yourself in front of GOD.
Eating, drinking, Sleeping and all other necessities are acts of worship if done in accordance with the way shown by Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him).
Lets analyze his way of eating. The Prophet (PBUH) used to eat with his fingers only and on finishing the food, he used to lick his fingers. Now todays science tells us that if you eat with your fingers and after finishing, lick them, you salivate more and this increases your digestion power. Next after washing his hands after a meal, he used to dry them by wiping them on his face and hair. This is also of medicinal value as this will clear yor pores and therefore have less chances of pimples and acne.
Like that all of his actions have a scientific reasoning behind them. But remember! we dont do these because of this science, instead we do it as it is the way of our prophet.
It is not obligatory to say ALLAH u Akbar before every prayer. I mean when we supplicate to GOD before eating, (there is a dedicated supplication for eating, drinking, sleeping etc) we can say the prescribed supplication only. But when we pray 'Salah' in the mosque, we say ALLAH u Akbar to glorify GOD.
The minarets are just for architectural purpose Infact during the time of the Prophet, his mosque did not have a Minaret. These evolved during the later part. Minarets or no minarets, a mosque is a simple hall dedicated for bowing ourselves infront of GOD.
I think most of the people answered how to say thank you in arabic.

I could not tell you how to say thank you. Are you asking how people pray or are you trying to imply that the way you described prayer is the only way and all other prayer is inferior?
I pray with every deep breath. Everytime I hold my kids or hear them laugh that is prayer to me. While I may not put my face to the ground I have no problem lying naked in the grass and enjoying the wonderful Mother beneath us. To feel the warmth of the sun on my WHOLE BODY and my face....That my friend is better than prayer...That is being one with The Divine........

pray before or pray after; depends when i'm hungry, actually. not during, though, cause you're not allowed to multitask then.
we pray the same anywhere, depending on which type of prayer it is (there are five; three with the same movements) even outside on the streets with newspapers if we have to.
During the standing up period, there are two 'surahs'; first the 'Al-Fatihah' and the next can be any you choose.
i think having more than one is prettier, don't you? maybe backup?

Than you for being polite. You asked a lot of questions, I didnt want to copy and paste so the link below is about the prayer.
http://www.troid.org/articles/ibaadah/salaat/mannersofperformingtheprayer/
Hope it helps.
Make sure everything is backed up with proof. The noble Quran and authentic sunnah.
Before eating we say
Bismillah.
By/In the Name of Allah. [Ibn Majah 1/557, see also An-Nawawi, Kitabul Adhkar 4/342]
If you forgot to say the above before eating, then say the following as soon as you remember:
Bismilaahi 'awwalihi wa aakhirihi.
In the Name of Allah, over the beginning of it and the end of it.
[Recorded by al-Tirmidhi, According to al-Hilaali, this hadith is sahih due to its supporting evidence. See al-Hilaali, vo. 2, pp. 580-581]
You say shukran in arabic for thanyou. In islam we say,
jazaaku-llaahu khairan
May Allah reward you well.
Btw, when you said pray before we eat, did you mean what we say or if we pray our salat prayers? I thought you meant what we say.
