I grew up with a religion in my family but my parents arent that religious... This 6 years, i've never practice my religion anymore.. I just still believe in God, that's all...

Now i meet a guy with different religion as mine, and i think i want to be with him forever.. He doesnt mind with my religion, but i know he prefers me to convert, his family also think the same..
But i know for sure as well, that my family wouldnt agree me to convert the religion I have since i was little..

I really dont have any idea at all about this. Do i really want to convert and practice a religion that i have never thought before do that i will have, and be with him or do i want to let him go and stay with my religion which i never practice and care actually?

So do me a favor to give any idea or suggestions...?

THANKS A LOT

You want to convert just for him? Pardon me, but that is what you basicly are saying. You should do what is best for you, and not because you are going to be with that person. Religion is a personal thing, and you should convert for the religion, not for anyone else, no matter how much he loves you, or how much his family would love it that you convert to their religion. convert only if the religion is the right one for you, and convert only after you understand and learn all you can about the religion.
Good Luck

i thought you siad that he does not care what your religion is.

so he should explain to his family that he has chosen you and that you will not be pressured to convert.

at the same time you should explain the same to your family about him.

end of story there is no reason that you folks cannot be together.

I am a Celtic Pagan priest. i recently preformed a marriage ceramony for a rather interresting couple. he was Wiccan and she was Catholic. i had members of both families there. and had to re-write the entire ceramony to incorperate what was importent from both faiths. and in a way that both families would be happy and the couple would get the wedding that they wanted.

if this can work then yours can work.

You need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You should never convert to someone else' religion, unless you are convicted by the Holy Spirit that it is right for you. Keep the Sabbath Day Holy. (Saturday)

Religion is sectarian but spirituality is universal. I suggest understanding universal truths which transcend religious walls. Go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com For the Universal Path to Enlightenment It made me look at all religion as coming from God and There is one God with many Names. Its very enlivening and brings one peace of mind and to the spiritual platform

Your own personal search for truth is the only way you will know. After having done that, go with what you feel is right. Don't convert or stay simply based on someone else's beliefs.

Take the time (yes it may take years), to find out for yourself.

religion is a belief. if you have never practiced your previous religion, it is perfectly fine to change religions. if you have actually practiced your previous religion, you might want to think twice before changing your religion. this is because your initial religion is a belief that you have lived with for a while and should be wisely changed.

Good luck!

So you have only know the religion you were born to? I think you might want to do more research before you change horses.

Why should you have to convert? If you don't want to, then don't. He'll either love you regardless of your religion or he won't. If he doesn't then he isn't worth your time.

Test him. If he respects your free will, then he will be a good partner forever. If not, you will have trouble. If a man can not respect the free will of another, of what else will he respect of that other person?
