The bible says often that no person is without sin, and nobody is good in the eyes of the lord because every one of us is a sinner. I understand that part. What I don't understand is why we need to apologize to God for being exactly the way he made us? Essentially what Christianity says is that we are all sinners no matter what we do, so in the eyes of Lord, the person who tries their best to not ever sin but occasionally slips up is worse than the person who sins more often but always repents and believes in God. I don't know why but that just sounds dumb to me?

I've no clue, but have put up with enough hypocrites on this topic that I can easily conclude nobody will ever REALLY be justified in the opinions they'll state on this topic... There really is no right, or wrong... but a lot of confusion and, perhaps some finger pointing in different directions.

Cheers!

You: "Essentially what Christianity says is that we are all sinners no matter what we do, so in the eyes of Lord, the person who tries their best to not ever sin but occasionally slips up is worse than the person who sins more often but always repents and believes in God"

Me: Not so fast. Christendoom believes that but not true Christians. True Christians acknowledge that they are sinners. They need Jesus ransom sacrifice. They try their best not to sin. But, if they do, they are assured of forgiveness because of Christ's great sacrifice.

If I back into another car in a parking lot, I can look to see if anyone saw and if not, I can drive away. Or I can consider that there's another person who will be upset when they see the damage, empathize (how would I feel?), step forward and admit it, pay to fix it, and resolve to be more careful in the future. Which value do you want to live with? How do you want others to treat YOU?

Religion exists in large part because it teaches lessons that help us get along with each other, lessons that aren't taught otherwise. To a Christian it is (or should be) fairly obvious: I've harmed someone else and should seek forgiveness. The mechanics of doing so is fairly simple: confess, atone, repent. I must admit that I did something wrong, do what I can to fix it, and resolve to be more careful knowing that this is something that can happen because I'm not perfect.

If you don't understand this, you weren't taught it. Your behavior will show evidence of it. Who else do you like bashing besides Christians? Women? Gays? Blacks? Retards? Hispanics? Republicans? Gun owners? If you have respect for the others you have to live around, you aren't entitled to any of it. Your behavior is a wrench thrown into the machinery of a smoothly functioning society. Wouldn't it be better to learn how to keep it working smoothlly?

People who bash Christianity have much in common with Biblical literalists. Biblical literalists treat things as just so many rules to be followed blindly without really learning the lessons behind them. They feel entitled to judge others by these lists of rules. It's obvious which people aren't worthy of respect. Those who bash Christianity are following a different set of rules, but most seem to have learned what's politically correct. They judge others according to how well they agree with politically correct behavior, and it's obvious which people aren't worthy of respect.

Some believe that if Adam had been created without the ability to chose, then he would have been a "robot." A father cannot make his children love him. They choose to love him because they have a free will. Others point out that humanity would never have seen the depth of the love of God, as displayed in the cross, unless Adam had sinned, and that fact could be one reason why God allowed sin to enter the world.

I submit to you that God owes us nothing. The fact that He made it possible for us to be forgiven of our sins through the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is a powerful message of His love. We cannot be so arrogant as to think we can save ourselves by trying our best not to sin. We accept His incredibly kind gift of mercy; and then try our best not to sin out of gratitude.

I hope this helps. God bless you.

It is true that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). It is also true that "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:23)

However, by God's mercy, He has sent a savior unto us (John 3:16), all we have to do to accept the FREE gift of salvation is ask Jesus into our hearts. We don't have to line the pockets of lying televangelists, we don't have to give blood sacrifices as some satanic cults would have us do, we just have to ask the Lord to come into our hearts and make us pure! If we allow Him to take control, He will make us perfect and holy servants of Him (Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 23, Matthew 5:48)
Jesus didn't come here to condemn us, but to save us (John 3:17)! Praise God! Hallelujah!

God is not a judgmental God who wishes to see us die. He is merciful and wishes every person to join Him in Heaven (2 Peter 3:9). It is by a person's own decision that they reject salvation and choose to sin. However, if a person forsakes their sins and turns to God, He is quick to forgive us our sins, no matter how great, and if we ask, He will forge us a new character which has no desire to sin.

Pray, and study the Bible! Satan is trying to fool you, make you think untrue thoughts about the character of God, and these thoughts are placing you in bondage. But if you read the Bible, then "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Again, Praise God!!!

God bless you! I will keep you in prayer!

My Christian sect (and myself) believe: We are judged on our actions based on our knowledge. For example, a person never hearing the gospel will not be judged as harshly if they chose evil as someone who has a full knowledge of it. We believe, at some point whether in this life or the hereafter we will all be given sufficient knowledge that will hold us all accountable for our actions.

God doesn't look upon sin with the least degree of tolerance. No person was or is perfect except for Jesus Christ. This is the important part: Jesus Christ died for us to atone for all our sins, in other words he pays the price for where we fall short. We have the choice whether or not we want to apply this great blessing to our lives. If we chose to apply the atonement to our lives, we are to do our very best to keep the commandments so that with his sacrifice and our hard work we may dwell with our families and in his presence forever.

I am a Christian and I understand how you are feeling. Please know that God did not create us to sin. Adam and Eve were meant to live with God in the Garden of Eden and have the life God created them to have. Satan came along because he hates God's children and lured them into doing what God told them not to do. It was their free will that God gave us that allowed them to make the choice they did. That is how sin entered the world. From then on all humans sinned and were no longer perfect. God knows that we will all sin, the point he wants us to know is that if we ask for his forgiveness he will always forgive and forget. We must try not to sin, but we can believe in Jesus and and ask for forgiveness. Those that try not to sin and still does (as we all do) and will not ask for forgiveness is what God does not want. We can not get to heaven by trying to be perfect, we get to heaven by believing in Jesus, and God's grace He gives us by forgiving us. I really hope this answers your question. :)

If you aske the Holy Spirit for guidance, then you will see the need for apology, for He will show you the nature of God, and He will show you the nature of sin.

Ah no.

We were given a choice. Trust in God, or the devil. We chose the latter. Then we lied to God about it. We chose to trust evil, and it marred us forever.

But the important point, is that we were NOT created sinful. We chose that path for ourselves. Now, yes, we are all sinners. However, that is not how we were created to be.
