I've read it. Don't like most of it. But the Beatitudes are one of my favorite works of literature all the same (I'm not a Christian). Earlier I asked what people's least favorite part was, and some said the whole thing. Come on guys, there is a good part in every book...So I felt it was only fair to ask this question.

On the Vicks First Defence advert, where the mother shows up her kid by throwing a tantrum, she doesn't pay for or even pick up the articles thrown on the floor by her brat, also on the BT Broadband advert, when the bratty daughter spills all of her toys on the floor with a snotty look, the girlfriend of the bloke who was Nick on My Family just smiles. The trouble is, nobody nowadays seems to think they're responsible for damage or expense caused by their children (and their dogs as well). Am I alone in thinking that parents should pay for or clear up after their offspring or is this an unfashionable point of view nowadays.

Come on the bible as some christians suggest was not written for christians it was written for (man) It is a wonderful book to understand the principles, but it has many metaphorical meanings that cant be taken literally. God is not yours alone, but yet you say he is. If you dont believe in sin, and if you dont repent, or if your not married to someone. If you dont do this, then you are not saved, and you will never see heaven. Why because god told you that, or is that what you have been taught? Give other people room to grow into god. You chain god up and put him in a cage as if it is yours alone, and tell others if you challenge this then it is a false god you believe in. Why isnt it easy to accept that god is in each and every one of us, and that we are connected because of the same source that gives us life and meaning. Not once did I hear the word Christians mentioned in the bible, but I heard man, as in everyone. Why do you make such seperations?

I assume that since he celebrated Passover we can also assume that he celebrated Yom Kippur, Celebrated the 8 days of Chanukah, And Joseph threw him a Bar Mitzvah.

After all he was Jewish!! I bet that he even wore a yamaka on his head.

I seriously doubt that Joe and Mary bought everyone else presents to celebrate Big J's B-Day!!

A man walks into a store and begins shopping only to find that the store is getting ready to close for the evening. He hurries to try to find what he wants and suddenly he slips onto something that was on the floor. As he is getting up from the floor he looks back at the stuff he had picked out and suddenly realized that he had not mopped his floor at home. He knew the store was going to close soon so he took all of his things to the cashier to pay for his things. As the cashier was finishing bagging his groceries that the man paid for she looked at the man and said........I was just kidding the store isn't really closing. They both laughed as the combination of each others experience was that in itself.

I have a frustration, maybe some of you can help me understand this.

I understand not liking violence, I even understand the belief it's not ever a solution, I could quibble with that, but I understand it. But sometimes it seems like those arguing against any and all forms of violence have not only no spine, but have no real sense of right and wrong; don't understand the concept of comeuppance.

Honestly, there are bad people, and when you can't call them the trash they are without someone interjecting with comments about how you shouldn't be so mean, what am I to think? You can't ever call people what they are?

Yes, it can make things worse. Yes, it may not be deserved. But I believe most of those lecturing against it aren't thinking one bit about the character of the person labelled as scum, they simply speak against violence like programmed robots. The worst is they seem to have no expressed desire to the filth get some sort of punishment, they just say things like, leave

I read a comment on a message board once where this guy from Jordan speaks Urdu. I don't know if he's a native or from India/Pakistan/other neighbouring countries, thus the question.

So ridiculous, all this false jollity, having to cope with family and aquaintances that you would only normally spend five minutes with.
Christian Festival.....you gotta be joking. Abolish ALL religions at the same time.

Have a nice day now, y'all.

My son is in 4th grade and reading the story "The Sign of the Beaver" He has an open book quiz he is working on. One question was "who was the story about that Matt read to Attean out of the bible?" his answer (which I still have to check) was the story of Noah. The next question is to give a short summary of the story that was the answer to the previous question. The problem is that we do not attend church, and I have never, so I am asking for your help.... Can you please give me a short descripition (just a couple of sentences 2 or 3) of the story of Noah? I don't need to hear about how I need to go to church and all that.....

and when we buried her dad refused to dump the urn. I have this recurring worrie that her soul is trapped in there and can get out. Do you think that could happen, I am considering digging it up and dumping it. Or do you think over time the urn will break from the ground pressure?

I know this is a weird question but it is something I am worrying about.
