Well, it sounds like you don't really consider them "friends," and therefore you should not let them convince you to do something you don't want to do. In fact, you shouldn't let anyone do that. As far as pot being harmful to you, I imagine that if you were responsible when using it, it would not greatly affect your health. Much like being responsible when drinking alcohol. However, it is illegal, so you do want to take that into consideration.

No, pot smoking causes memory problems so if you're in school or working, it can hinder concentration. The real problem is that you don't always know what's in the pot. They may have put something else in it to stretch the pot or to give it an extra kick to boost sales. Sometimes, that can be deadly. Also, pot is a gateway drug. You smoke "socially", but the dealer ran out. He'll give you something else free or very cheaply...so you try it. Next, you could have an addictive personality...like I do. I have a history of alcoholism in my family. The trait is hereditary. I do have an addictive personality, but I don't drink because I know I could easlily get addicted to drugs or alcohol. Lastly, it's illegal. It could land you in jail and disgraced. It's just not worth it.

Well, let's think about it. You smoke pot. Your parents find out. They go ballistic. You get the munchies. Gain a couple of pounds. People at school find out. They start looking at you differently. You try out for the volleyball team and you have to take a drug test. You fail. You no longer have a shot at getting a scholarship to the school of your choice. And the vicious cycle keeps going.
True story: A friend of mine got a full-ride baseball scholarship to an amazing private school. He got kicked off the college team and lost his scholarship because he failed the drug test. He had to drop out of school because he didn't have the funds to pay tuition, etc. himself. He's now working a factory job and living with some of his "friends" smoking pot on a regular basis. Wow. What a GREAT life he has.

Yes, marijuana use does have potentially harmful consequences, it does mess with your memory and motivation after long term use...temporary affects can include paranoia, disorientation, it even makes some people sick, I've never personally felt any ill affects from past use, but I've seen it affect different people in different ways. Regardless, you shouldn't do anything, especially a drug, that you have no desire to try, your "friends" shouldn't "try to get you to smoke pot". If you do try it it should be because you chose to.

No. Marijuanna, when smoked, has more carcinogens than cigarettes. Why lput any type of negativity into your body, when you have the control? I have friends that smoke pot, but they respect that I don't. People who use drugs usually have another problem they are trying to escape. Drugs will make it worse. If they can't accept your opinions, why accept them?

Look, Marijuana is not like HEROIN, but you can get addicted to it like you can get addicted to food.
If you smoked it like 5 times a year its probably better than binge drinking BUT it cannot be done everyday or you will start killing your short term memory and it takes a while for that to come back and YES you do miss it.
Smoking is also HARSH and cancer causing. Get some good brownie recipes off the web and make a weekend of it BUT do not think habitual use is cool...ITS NOT!!!!

I don,t think it would kill you, however I don,t really think it is necessary to prove anything to your friends.Sounds like you might look for better friends if they do not agree with your decision to avoid pot.Its not the pot that kills you its the things that smoking pot leads to that will kill you.A real friend would not try to get you to do something that you don,t want to do,im sure your Mom has told you this before.

No. All major addictions have a starting point. A joint today can lead to hard drug addition in a short time. Once you introduce a narcotic to the body it begins to crave more and the body does not stop the craving until the habit is totally kicked or it dies.

Think about it. It's harmful to smoke anything. The body isn't designed to inhale smoke. Yes it's harmful.

Well I mean it's a good form of escapism, but it's up to you.I mean everything's bad for you nowadays, and a lot of the time in this life you need those little vices just to get you by.
