Here is an exerpt from a link that I think you would find interesting. It also includes links to the bible for you to look them up for yourself. I hope you enjoy this truthful explanation of what is an angel.
WHO ARE THE ANGELS?
CONTRARY to what many believe, angels are not the departed souls of humans who have died. The Bible plainly states that the dead "are conscious of nothing at all." (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Where, then, did the angels come from? The Bible indicates that they were individually created by God before the founding of the earth. (Job 38:4-7) The size of God's heavenly family may be hundreds of millions, perhaps billions or more! Some angels joined Satan in his rebellion.—Daniel 7:10; Revelation 5:11; 12:7-9.
Since Jehovah is a God of order, it is not surprising that his vast angelic family is organized.—1 Corinthians 14:33.
The foremost angel, both in power and authority, is the archangel, Jesus Christ, also called Michael. (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Jude 9) Under his authority are seraphs, cherubs, and angels.
Seraphs are in attendance at God's throne. Their assignment evidently involves declaring God's holiness and keeping his people clean.—Isaiah 6:1-3, 6, 7.
Cherubs are also seen in Jehovah's presence. As bearers or escorts of God's throne, they uphold Jehovah's majesty.—Psalm 80:1; 99:1; Ezekiel 10:1, 2.
Angels (meaning "messengers") are agents and deputies of Jehovah. They carry out the divine will, whether it involves deliverance of God's people or the annihilation of the wicked.—Genesis 19:1-2

Did you know that man was created a little lower than the angels?
Hebrews 2:7
6 But a certain witness has given proof somewhere, saying: “What is man that you keep him in mind, or [the] son of man that you take care of him? 7 You made him a little lower than angels; with glory and honor you crowned him, and appointed him over the works of your hands.

Angels are awesome.... but I know something angels only wish they knew
Angels are spiritual creature made and who sang (in tune) at the foundation of the world' No disgruntled angels during creation yet and the world was good. They walk by sight and are creatures of strength. There were three main head angels, one rebelled out of pride instead of reflecting God's glory back to God he wanted glory for himself and drug down other angels with himself to try and 'hurt God' by attacking things he feels important to God
in contrast people are creatures of weakness, made form the lowest stuff of the world...dust... lowly yet made in God's image in some sense... angels are to serve God and the redeemed people made of dust who serve God not by sight but serve the unseen God by faith. Although the world was 'good' after creation of myriad angels, fish birds stars and wonders... some angels may be been disgruntled over the thought of the world declared VERY GOOD after God made out of dust one couple in the garden, making the wife from the husbands wounded side and having angels serve the redeemed
redeemed people will be lifted higher than the angels,... and go.. from dust to glory... to become as a group the 'bride of Christ' the one marriage in heaven.. (not the 70 virgins sorry) ...Just as there was 1 marriage in the garden, there is one marriage in heaven where the bride was made out of the wounded side of the messiah, the redeemed, the church from , all ages, peoples and places as the redeemed experience the great adventure of enjoying God as they know him better and better worshipong more and more and angels experienceing the mercies of God as they see the forgiven and hear their stories

Angels (and demons) are beings from another plane of existence. The words 'angel' and 'demon' are human terms created to describe them, and these beings generally do not refer to themselves as such. They may be benevolent, malevolent, or indifferent, and may have powers we cannot begin to comprehend, or be little more than shades. There are all manner of things out there that humans have little knowledge of.

angels definitely exist; they aren't simply good people, and they are greater than we are. The Bible says, "What is man that you are mindful of him? ... You made him a little lower than the angels" (Hebrews 2:6-7).
Angels are a separate category of spiritual beings, created by God as His special messengers or helpers. They have many responsibilities, but one of their major tasks is to watch over God's people: "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14). Although they seldom take visible form, they are constantly involved in the ongoing conflict between good and evil. In the last days, Jesus said, "The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous" (Matthew 13:49).
While the Bible doesn't give us details about their origin, it seems that angels existed before the world was created, and through all eternity they will continue to serve and praise God. We are not to worship them, however, for only God is worthy of our worship (see Revelation 22:8-9).
Thank God for His angels, and for their watchful care over us; they are a sign of God's continuing love. But the greatest sign of God's love is Christ, for He alone went to the cross for our salvation. Is your hope in Him?

I`m sure you already know that the term Angel means messenger, the Angels all have their own individual names and their greatest joy is to do God`s will, especially when it concerns us. they are our great helpers in this spiritual battle and our own guardian Angel is constantly trying to guide us in the way`s of God, and we need to seek their consul and talk to them more.
