I am travelling to another city with a coworker tomorrow and he is going to be fasting. Years ago, I remember hearing that if you do travel, you can break your fast? Will he be allowed not to fast for the duration of our trip? What is the rule regarding travel distance and breaking ones fast?
Thanks.

from what source did the perfection of mathmatics and the clockwork of the universe derive? Surely not from man, for man is simply revealing the mathmatical realities. Is it possible that the pure perfection of mathmatics that ties all of the sciences together occurred randomly? Is there not room for a Grand Mathmatician known as god?

Apart from this so called book of god, is there any real proof? I mean who actually wrote it. If "Harry Potter" didnt have the author on the cover, could this also be proof that magicians and all other characters in the book exist. Do you think the bible could be a practical joke? As the mild mannered janitor once said "Could Be".

I read the bible and pray as usual but i dont go to church. Not all churchs, but i have found out that there is much corruption in churches nowdays and the most of the congregation are hypocrites, though we all are not perfect. I am a christian with no denomination. I believe in God and Jesus as the son of God and my savior. Do you go? Why or why not?

Hypothetically, if you had evidence that God did not exist and you presented this information to Christians and other believers, I don't think they would believe it. I believe that once you are 'saved' you are incapable of changing that belief ever. What is it about their thinking that makes them incapable of even considering this fact?

Do you think flying planes into buildings in the hope that it pleases a god is just a form of spiritual roulette?

People do things in the name of God, but who's the god of spiritual roulette?

My God is Jehovah and his son is Called Jesus, in him there is no shadow of turning, there is no chance if we fight him. He is always the winner!

My question is this; why do we as a sex strive so hard to achieve the impossible ideals set for us by society? What is it that makes us think that we can have the tight bodies, shiny full hair, beautiful skin, and outrageous warbrobes celebs have stylists, nutritionists, personal trainers, makeup artists, hairstylists, etc for? Also, why can't so many people just be happy with what we have? Finally, what part do men play in the fight to achieve true "beauty"?

I personally, am quite happy and sure of myself, but there are many who aren't and I think it's sad.

A woman I know told me this very thing today-'You know that you're going to Hell don't you?' I'm like 'No I didn't hear that, who told you?' She did not think that was funny- 'It's no laughing matter, you are a nice person and I don't want to see you go to Hell.' I said- 'I'd hate to see that too.' At this point she's getting kind of angry with me and tells me that 'all Catholics and Jews' are going to Hell. I burst out laughing and said 'Well, we'll have one Hell of a party down there I guess!' And she walked off. Later I'm thinking to myself- oh my gosh, she was really serious!! I guess I shouldn't have laughed but I couldn't help it! What should I have said to her?

*This woman is the source of my frustration and why I posted the anti-catholicism??? Q*

Bear in mind this is a spiritual question, not a health question. Assuming everyone involved is 100% healthy, why would you limit your Love to one person rather than more than one? Why should we limit selfless love? and if we do, how do we selflessly love everyone (or should we)?

And yes, I am including (but not limiting the question to) the intimate, sexual component when I speak of "selfless love". Selfless love is all the ways we can express love, including the ability to give pleasure.

Also, This one for those of Christian faith. With 79.8% of the American people practising some form of Christianity, will those who have killed in His name still go to heaven, even though they've broken one of the ten, or does the bible offer any exceptions to the rule? If there are no exceptions, why do they vote for George W and other like-minded war presidents? I'm truly puzzled!

I mean, I go to church and read the bible etc. but I accept that it is not definite and also look into theories like the big bang and other religions' points of view.

I mean, all the bible explains is a theory, what someone thought happened at the first section is all theory, their is stuff that proves part of the bible being correct, such as there being a person called Jesus at the time but that doesn't make the whole bible right, does it?

I mean, there have been some things that have been discovered about other theories that are true, but that doesn't make all of the theories true.

You always get some people answering questions with either "of course" because the bible says so or "no" because the bible says so.

Think for yourselves people, any old person could go look up something in a book. Have your own opinion and don't let a book of theories decide what you do and think.

Isn't it bad enough that poor people keep getting ripped off by corporations? Then to top it off, Christians want to rip poor people off too. It makes me sick how Christians travel to foreign countries with thier luxurius moble homes and preach how they are concerned for the poor. Poor people have enough misery to deal with and they don't need some prepackaged commercialized religion that will mold them and rip them off at the same time. I have always felt that the underlying force behind Christianity is capitalism. Troops are dying in Iraq to protect the wealth of the capitalist. Meanwhile they are being told that Jesus and thier country are proud of them. Christianity has seemed to be a great control tool for the weak minded. Christianity, in my opinion, is about greedy people trying to make more money off of the poor.
