Bear in mind this is a spiritual question, not a health question. Assuming everyone involved is 100% healthy, why would you limit your Love to one person rather than more than one? Why should we limit selfless love? and if we do, how do we selflessly love everyone (or should we)?

And yes, I am including (but not limiting the question to) the intimate, sexual component when I speak of "selfless love". Selfless love is all the ways we can express love, including the ability to give pleasure.

Because you should be giving 100% of yourself to whoever you are loving. You cannot give 100% to more than one lover at a time. And if you give less than 100%, how are you getting 100% in return?

I am sure polygamists do not consider their big families as free loving. On the religious aspect, it is a matter of creating a larger community who share the same beliefs. The children view all the wives as their mothers and they do not consider their biological mother as more sacred than the other mothers. So I would imagine the Husbands try to treat all their wives equally. It is an interesting concept for religious purposes, but I was not raised that way, so I would have to go monogamist. My parents were married for 37 years before my mother died and they did a wonderful job of being great parents, and for that I am grateful.

well there is physical love and spiritual love. the latter affords a greater amount of pleasure and it truly spreads love faster. physical love is temporary. i feel it better to freely love one person ie your eternal companion via marriage but that is my personal view that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman. Selfless love to your companion is a gift and example that will trickle down throughout the generations and society as a whole. The best sense of spiritual love is through service because when you are in service of your fellow man you are only in service of your God. i have found that when in the act of service that the giver of service recieves so much more in love and personal spiritual growth from the simple act of service and those who are the recipient of their services. sorry bit of a ramble there.

Polyamoury is a better truth. Marriage is an illusion and self-limiting which denies the spirit. Early man knew not of marriage and early man is what I choose to see as the source of truth. Thank you.

Polyamory is better, but jealousy always gets in the way of fulfilling it. That is why monogamy is such an institution.

polygamy is just another way of using women.
No man can satisfy a harem sexually so why aren't there women who have multiple husbands. At least she could satisfy them.
