It depends how long you've known that person!

I usually switch off my phone when I go to bed, because if there's an emergency, I figure they'd try the landline. Ok, if you don't have a landline, it doesn't work!

You should check your messages right before you go to bed, even if you are IN bed. Answer them if you need to. Then switch it off if you don't need an answer straight away.

If it's a phone call, just go to another room.

Basically, it's the same as if it were a landline. If you only have a studio flat, well, tough luck, nothing much you can do about it.

I really think switching off my phone at night is a good idea: you might have a drunk friend who suddenly thinks that calling you at 3am is really fun!

+ It depends. If you do business overseas and don't want to spend the night at work you might make an arrangement to call or accept a call late. It would be better to get up and leave the room to do this when a late call comes.

I think it is outrageous for people to assume that the whole world revolves around their personal time schedule. unless you belong to a UNION or work for "The State".

Time, tides and weather wait for no man.

Y not, unless you have something to hide, or you are in the act of of you know or cuddling or something, I don't see the big deal. I think your partner would become suspicious if you had to get out of bed just to check messages in another room, that might be a problem.

I thoroughly accept as true with you. cellular telephones, iPods and different digital gadgets have become particularly a nuisance. The irony of all of it is that those have been all meant to income human beings and makes lives extra handy not extra annoying. one component I hate approximately human beings employing cellular telephones is BLUETOOTH! i will stroll via human beings conversing on their stupid earpiece component like they're CEO of a few huge corporation. and then whilst they take a seat to eat, they don't even evaluate taking it off. Texting, such as you pronounced is likewise rude on the dinner table. My sister has been in the habit of texting on the incorrect cases. Very unhappy.

No, it's inconsiderate to say the least. If you do need to do it, and I bet there's precious little that is so urgent it can't wait til the morning, get up and go to another room.

However, are you really going to be Mr Popular if you start phoning people when they're likely to be in bed?

Yes Dear, this is inappropriate, and always leave the cell phone in another room charging. Hold on to the love one, or you may be checking messages elsewhere.

If the other person is trying to sleep, I'd go into the other room, at least.

No. The only exception is an emergency. Otherwise, expect a punch in the gut.
