Does it bother anyone else that most of the topics in this category are so shallow. It just kind of depresses me reading some of the topics that are posted. Isn't it like we are asking people to look down on and hate gays when we post things like "Why does my mother lick the sperm of my dad`s bellybutton, they invited me to do the same?is it normal?" or "Gee,My friend just turned into a gay and were like best friends , I want to turn also but she wont tell me how". But I do also have to give props to those that ask good questions like ones that actually challenge our way of thinking.

I guess it just kind of depresses me because everyone gets all up in arms when somebody comments and it's a homophobic response but we don't really do anything to improve our image to the outside world.

I don't know. I guess I might just need to get off my high horse and get a different perspective on things.

Or, put another way, what do you most admire about your chosen church, synagogue, temple, Islamic center, etc? I've left this deliberately vague so it can mean the building itself, the people, their practices, or whatever aspect impresses you most or gives you the most pleasure.

If yes, please provide scripture that makes a DIRECT reference to this PARTICULAR situation.

If no, please explain why religious guys are so hesitant to express their love for each other like Jesus wanted. What is so terrible about two guy friends kissing or showing affection in other friendly ways?

my Godmother went to see a play at the church. it was getting late so she decided to leave and go to work. on her way out she heard an angelic voice say, "Don't leave, your gonna get a rose." she listened to the voice and stayed there. then the priest started blessing several families for various reasons. then the priest went up to my Godmother and asked if her name was Maria. She said yes and then he gave her a rose. WOW!!! oh yeah...he son passed away about a year ago. my dad would play golf with his dad. they played more and even better after his passing. then there was this hole-in-one contest. the boy's dad was up to golf. right before he swung, a HUGE beautiful butterfly landed on his shoulder and wouldn't leave. he swung and made the hole-in-one. then the butterfly left. please tell me what you think of my two stories. i have more but ill tell you later.

My son and daughter have been friends with a little boy and girl who live down the street (quarter of a mile away) for a year now. Their mother, I have tried and am still trying to get used to her personality and trying my best to be friends with. She is nice but she invades my private space (hugs galore)& can be a pest at times, showing up at my front door with her kids every day. Sometimes she sends her kids by themselves walking to my house (they are 5 and 6 yrs old) and doesn't call me to let me know they are coming. I am afraid that one time she will do that, we won't be home and they will mess around on our property and get into things or get hurt before turning around and walking home. I don't mind having company once in awhile, but I am not a huggy kissy person and and every-day-visitor type of person. I want to remain friendly with her but I don't want the company every day. Sorry I wrote a novel.

I was curious. Of course they are welcome. But Buddhist, Muslim, Christian etc are spiritual. Some athiest just come on to change ones spirituality. My best friend doesn't believe in Christ but I've never once forced my beliefs on him. If you really think our religions are myths why not post in myths forums? As I said before all are welcome to their own opionions. :) I know I'm adding fuel to the fire. But I had to ask tehehe

Why would any prophet need "peace on them", if, as Islam says, they're in Heaven? I don't think anybody in Heaven would need peace upon themselves, because by definition, Heaven is peace in itself.

When was the last time you hugged your kids and told them you love them? When was the last time you went looking for bugs with them? Do you ever slide through the house with your socks on with them? How often do you read to them and pray with them? When was the last time you just stopped and listened to what they have to say? Do you ever build forts with them in the house and play in it? When was the last time you played "monster" and chased them around the house? When was the last time you let something slide that you keep telling them not to do?

I have two kids that are still young, but they are growing so fast. There are already so many things that I wish I would have done differently and I'm sure that over the years I will not do everything right. Sometimes I think I let myself get too busy, and overly concerned with things that don't matter nearly as much as my kids. This is just a reminder to people like me, enjoy your kids, they are awesome gifts from God! :)
