I'm not a Mormon, but I've known some Mormon people and I've always found it ridiculous and very "un-Christian" that so many people have hated them for over 150 years. Who did they ever hurt?

I did a thesis paper on early American religious movements and most people have forgotten or don't know that they government of Missouri actually put out an extermination order on the Mormons to have them killed. That is why they ended up in Utah. Who the hell cares if they have bizarre rituals and beliefs. Most religions do! I just think it's interesting that the Mormons' most vocal and vicious opponents are Protestant Christians.

As a socially liberal young woman, I don't agree with the Mormon Church's position on abortion, homosexuality, etc. But that doesn't mean that I hate them..So isn't it a little hypocritical when other Christian churches mock and ridicule the Mormons, when those same Christian churches become so offended and defensive when they're persecuted by atheists, etc?

A friend of mine told me that israel indvaded lebanon so that hezbolla would stop throwing wild gay orgies. They were too loud and bothered the people. When they asked hezbolla to stop, hezbolla kidnapped and sodomized some israeli soldiers. So now they have a war. Its like i support gay rights, but not by force like hezbolla seems to want.
Who is right, and how can they stop all of this mess?

I am Chinese with naturally wavy hair and I was just wondering how common or how rare this is. People told me it's either because of a genetic mutation or a sign that I have non-Asian blood, however far back. I know it's been passed to me by one side my family.

Thank you to all that answered my question about why the catholic church requires an annulment from my irst mariage so that my ex can get remarried, although I found a few of your answers a little slanderous because I don't believe is some of the catholic churches beliefs....However, my ex husband was the one that filed for the divorce in the first place because he said that he basically was still a child and wasn't ready for the responsibility of marriage. Because I'm a christian, I don't believe divorce as ever being and option before or during a marriage. We were married by the pastor of our church, in the sight of God and fellow believers. A year and a half later he wants adivorce, gets one, now wants me to help him so that he can get married in the catholic church. Does this seem right and fair? I don't support that religion, but don't want to deny him happiness? What would you do?

Some young foolish woman did this to me today when I was just walking on the sidewalk, although it's not the first time it has happened. I don't know why they think that I would steal their wallets...besides, I believe a smart thief would find a better hiding spot than his rear trouser pocket!

I'm a very firm atheist too so don't think I'm going to make the stupid morals come from religion argument. But my question is do you think the world would be a better place if more people acted morally based on true compassion and completely non religious motives?

Personally I think that the world could do with more atheists or at least agnostics. I think it allows us to make moral decisions without conflict or cloudiness a little better. And you could say then less people would be scared into being good or tempted to be good for heaven's sake but then again less "holy" wars ( an oxymoron in the most absurd sense). What do you think?

PS for theists who read this anyways, I believe Jesus existed and was a great person and taught many values not enough people live up to, it's most gods I have extreme distaste and disbelief of. And I don't think anyone is less of a good person for being religious. Please don't misinterpret me. I would never suggest religious suppression either.

A lot of doctors and engineers are REALLY smart analytically, but some cannot communicate well, for example. Some have terrible interpersonal skills, too.

Is this not sad 2000+ years after Jesus sacrifice.?

My friend's backyard was haunted by an occultish presence. In his backyard, his two roommates felt spiders crawling on them and pins and needles. In the hedge they found the three above items. There was also a mysterious man in a black suit who walked past my friend up his driveway and then disappeared.

Biblical Verse: 1 Peter 5:14 - "Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen."

Why are people so hesitant to kiss each other in a friendly way, expecially the guys? The Bible makes it pretty clear that this is the right thing to do. Also Jesus kissed his disciples all the time according to the Bible. Why don't/shouldn't we kiss all our friends like it says to do in the Bible?

Look at all the hateful responses to my questions. They call me a racist. They call me a bastard. They use vulgar and obscene language. Islam is not a race! I've had alot of very civil responses to my questions from level headed Muslims, and I've picked Muslims answers as BEST ANSWER. Why is it OK for them to refute and debunk other religions, but when we question their religion (or challenge them about certain part of it), they curse us and insult us and report us as abuse? It sure seems like a double standard to me. Why why why?

I am just looking for a way around the boring conversations. I've made cue cards for her to make the conversations more exciting, and I've even held my breath until I pass out to try to liven things up; nothing works with this one.

If she thinks I cannot hear her, I am thinking that maybe she won't speak to me.

I'm Seventh-day Adventist myself, but sometimes I find it hard trying to tell others about our faith. I enjoy being an SDA member and telling people about us but sometimes they try to tell me they know more about what we believe when they haven't taken the time to get to know us.
