Biblical Verse: 1 Peter 5:14 - "Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen."
Why are people so hesitant to kiss each other in a friendly way, expecially the guys? The Bible makes it pretty clear that this is the right thing to do. Also Jesus kissed his disciples all the time according to the Bible. Why don't/shouldn't we kiss all our friends like it says to do in the Bible?

It's a cultural thing to kiss a friend on the cheek, and I typically still maintain that culture.

Actually I believe the scripture reads greet each other with a holy kiss. And in our society men need to be men and women need to be women. Because no one knows when someone else is going to start a whispering campaign. WE don't want to appear to be "gay" or "light in the loafers" or "woman in comfortable shoes". We must have everyone think us to be heterosexual. Perhaps Jesus didn't understand that we weren't going to be as comfortable with our sexuality as He was with His. No one questioned Christ (when He walked the earth.) We had to wait till the advent of the internet and religion forums before anyone would make any inuendo about His sexuality. But I think that is the reason why we don't greet each other with an holy kiss. (But I have been wrong about other stuff too. Just my opinion. Nothing scriptural here.)

It definitely is a culture thing. I used to live in the middle east (like Jesus), and when men greet each other they give a kiss to each side of the head. It kinda looks like two bobbing birds bowing at the sides of each other's heads.
It has nothing to do with sexuality, and it not done between men and women (at least not in public).
