Praying to the saints: Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

Because those who aren't Catholic don't understand Catholicism. For many, the thing that comes to mind is corrupt priests who have done things to little boys. The media aways focuses on that rather than the positive things about the Catholic Church.

I don't know about the corruption in other churches. But I know it exists. A local pastor and his wife were fired last week from their positions in the church they began. Very sad.

Because it is universal and united and it is easier to bash the Catholic Church than any small congregation in the middle of nowhere.

Also because the Catholic Church doesn't defend itself from the radicals. It is what is happening in Europe with people who bash the Pope but they don't dare to bash the Muslims, even when they don't follow the laws.

Look for example in South Park, when they didn't dare to show the Muslim cartoons, because they were scared of reprisals.

When a Hollywood star gives money for something, he/she takes dozen of papparazi with them (Sean Penn in New Orleans, Pitt and other...)But the Catholic Church runs hospitals, schools, charities, give food to hungry people with no publicity at all.

I admire the Pope, because he is the only person in the World who believe what he says and he doesn't care about sounding "politically correct" or the "polls".

Read Revelations, and you will know. The colors are mentioned, the Catholic church is the only one that calls itself "mother", the whore described in the Revelations, Come out of her my people. It is simply Babalon. Not to mention the worship of idols, strictly forbidden in the 10 commandments.
It's not the people, they were brainwashed long ago. It's the institution itself. The people are just like any others following the religion of their parents.

And what's with the kissing the ring thing?
And they have exhaulted Mary to the position of Jesus? Ok, Mary was the vessel that God used to make His word flesh. By way of Jesus. She was not a virgin after she had Jesus, she had other children. So why pray to her? She was not God's word, her child was. Jesus was born while she was still a virgin. The Lord used Moses as a vessel too. Where's his statue? Why not pray to him too? Come on.

Because the Catholic church is world wide, and it is corrupt they pray to saints, who cant do anything for us. they cant even hear us. And other churches are corrupt because people want to pick and kick out things they want in their religion which is against God's word. Mother Mary and the Green Men in the Catholic chuch was created so that pagans would come to the catholic church, they call her Mother Goddess=Mother Mary

I realize that this site is supposed to be categorized as "religious and spiritual' instead it should be " lets take out all our anger on each other through personal beliefs.' The crack about the Virgin Mary. If you think Jesus didn't love his mother guess again. Calling the Catholic church the whore of Babylon- you are very arrogant. Priests and nuns take vows of poverty and yes celibacy. ( there are bad apples everywhere) That is quite a bit to give up. They don't stand there and make it up as they go along ' God told me this or that.' Mass is solemn and it is sacred. The body and blood of Christ is part of Mass. Idols- well all you Christians who don't worship idols- do you watch TV? Do you have favorite movie stars? What about your possession? You own no pictures that are on your walls? Now I know why the atheists think all Christians are hypocrites. Please get to know Jesus Christ- get to know his word. You have no love in your heart when you slam his mother. The Saints are people who should be thought of better than sports stars - your idols by the way. All you Christians who know who is going where when they die- how is it you think you are God? Christ taught love and you spew hate. Take the log out of your eye before you inspect the speck in mine. Let he that is without sin cast the first stone. Love thy neighbor as thy self. Think about it. Peace.

Lots of people love to point the finger somewhere else. The truth is that there are Godly people in all different denominations, and there are also ungodly people in all different denominations. God judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart and isn't swayed by how we label ourselves or each other.

The real question is, "Is my church corrupt at all?" My church cannot be corrupt at all, because I have no church. I broke free of the domination of a relegion years ago.

Why do any of us feel the need to "Bash" anyone or anything.
"There is so much bad in the best of us,
There is so much good in the worst of us,
That it ill behooves any of us,
To rail at the faults of the rest of us."

It makes them feel good to look down on others. It's really pathetic.
