I am Chinese with naturally wavy hair and I was just wondering how common or how rare this is. People told me it's either because of a genetic mutation or a sign that I have non-Asian blood, however far back. I know it's been passed to me by one side my family.

Oh me too! But I'd say mine is more wavy than having actual curl. Still, it's not the every day straight hair you see so often in Asians.

I know my wavy hair is due to European ancestry. My hair and eye colour look European, but my face looks more Asian.

I think wavy/curly hair texture is pretty rare in full Asians, but for us multi-racial Asians, it might be more common.

My godbaby has beautiful curly hair which she gets from her dad. He's Cambodian. My best friend who's Chinese and Laos has what she calls "lumps of waves" near her roots--also very pretty in my opinion although she hates it..lol.

I'm caucasian and my husband is Japanese, and my kids get their curly hair from their dad's side.
