Why do SOME Indians think engineers and doctors are the smartest people?

Question

A lot of doctors and engineers are REALLY smart analytically, but some cannot communicate well, for example. Some have terrible interpersonal skills, too.

According to the Multiple Intelligences Theory ,there are a lot of different kinds of smarts:
1. Naturalist Intelligence (“Nature Smart”)
2. Musical Intelligence (“Musical Smart”)
3. Logical-Mathematical Intelligence (Number/Reasoning Smart)
4. Existential Intelligence
5. Interpersonal Intelligence (People Smart”) Intelligence
6. Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence (“Body Smart”)
7. Linguistic Intelligence (Word Smart)
8. Intra-personal Intelligence (Self Smart”)
9. Spatial Intelligence (“Picture Smart”)

I am NOT referring to Indians-just doctors and engineers in general. Check out the Multiple Intelligences Theory...don't you think it makes sense?

After all, the theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University. It suggests that the traditional notion of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children and adults.

I don't think it is wrong to give respect to valuable educated people either...all I am saying is that there are different kinds of smarts. Also, does anyone know which theory of intelligence is the most valid?

The brain controls verbal processing. Doesn't that mean communication skills are a part of one's intelligence.

because that is how their stupid parents taught them.

Indian people are really a funny (weird) type of people.
They are mostly shy especially bout asking girls out and making out
and are mostly picked on by bullies. So they get timid and stick to things like video games and electronics and stuff.

Cause i'm one and i know how it feel,

I never went to a dance party, never have sex, never kissed a girl,
but sadly i never lost faith in god.

So in return for my sacrifice no other type of person could endure, they ended up with big jobs, big salaries and hot virgin wives.

Would anbody sacrifice so much for that?

There are so many think you should know about India before you get the answer for your question. Because lot of people like you think Indians are stupids and they have no sense.

And now the answer for your question is Not only Indians all over the world most of the people respect Doctors and engineers. And yes The doctors and Engineers are smartest people. When you go under surgery where ever you pray who ever your god will be ...doesn't matter...On that spot when you go into the sleep slowly your only believe and only god that surgeons who is going to operate you. Doctors are equal to god by dedicate their life to serve people .
Countries like Srilanka & India no one can enter the Medical college or Engineering college easily. To enter Medical college or Engineering college the student has to choose which major he or she has to do for their higher studies in their high school level. If that student like to do Medicine they has to choose biology subjects with physics and chemistry and if that students like to do Engineering they should take math subjects and physics with chemistry and high school final exam will be Country wide exam and they should have 90% marks to qualify in to the Medical college or Engineering college.
And you can't evaluate your high school syllabus to our high school subjects, For an example what ever you study in your high school we study in our 6th grade. Our studies are very high standard and exams are very hard.in our countries there are lot of educated people live but our economical status is kind of low. When a student get the chance to study medicine or engineering it will be very costly ..Other degrees are not that much coast. So eventually this is the reason they praise doctors and engineers. I don't think it's wrong to give respect to valuable educated people.
