As someone who was born and raised in Brazil I can tell you with absolute certainty that, no, Brazilians DO NOT speak Spanish. We speak Portuguese because Brazil, like all of the other countries in the Americas, was colonized by an European nation: Portugal.
As far as I know, the only places in Brazil where some of the citizens speak both Spanish and Portuguese are places which are located near the border with one of the other South-American countries. As you might know, almost every country in South America speaks Spanish, with the exception, of course, of Brazil and the Guyanas, one British and the other French.
Oh, and by the way, someone just said that Spanish speaking people and Portuguese speaking people have an easy time understanding each other's languages. This is true only up to a certain point. In my personal experience, when I first came in contact with Spanish speaking people (in the USA) I understood the language immediately and could speak it quickly enough for me to be able to take my driver's license exam in Spanish.
That, however, hasn't been the case for my Spanish speaking friends. For some reason they don't seem to assimilate and catch up with Portuguese as well as we Brazilians are able to do so with Spanish.
It's a mystery to me as to why that is.
I hope this helps ya! ♥

Portuguese is the national language of Brasil, although of course some people can speak Spanish too (they aren't a million miles apart as languages). Some places in the South of Brasil, where Bunchen is from, even speak German! You are better doing a research on Shakira if you want to do a research on a Spanish speaking celebrity.

No, Brazil is not a Spanish-speaking country. Their official langauge is Portuguese. Portuguese, like Spanish, is a Latin-based language, so they have similarities, and many who can speak one are able to understand much of the other.

Brazil is neither Spanish-speaking nor a language. It is a Portugese-speaking country.
I don't know if you'll take this to be a "smart" answer or not. If so, here's my answer: No.
