Why would any prophet need "peace on them", if, as Islam says, they're in Heaven? I don't think anybody in Heaven would need peace upon themselves, because by definition, Heaven is peace in itself.

i think of you're misinterpreting it. seem at it this style: inquiring for peace to be "upon Him" is additionally phrased "on behalf of Him." So, if you are going to declare admire of others' religions, properly... good. (yet, then... might you prefer somebody who believes in a distinctive faith than you do, to aid you already know God isn't a loving God? Or say, "Peace isn't a hazard with God, because of the fact he's a killer?" Or any element comparable?) I doubt it -- because of the fact, inspite of each and every thing, that could desire to be disrespectful. So, in case you come across Muslims annoying, there's a particularly basic answer, right here: in basic terms forget approximately them. era; yet you decide on no longer overtly solid your judgments. i'm hoping that enables.

It is out of respect and to honour the Prophets. They are not like you or I they deserve more respect. People in high positions get some sort of respect. It is not just "Islamic prophet" it is all prophets. We believe in all of them. If we deny one we deny them all. We believe in Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Jacob, Moses, Jesus, (peace and blessings be upon all of them) and many others. There are close to 124,000 Prophets sent to humanity and only 25 have been mentioned by name in Quran.

It is also an order in the Quran
"Indeed, God and his Angels give salutation/blessings on the Prophet. Oh you who believe, send blessings on him and salute him a WORTHY salutation" (Quran)

First of all, let me thank u for asking me a question abt my religion

There is no where in Islam it is said they are in Heaven YET, they may be some place nice but not heaven as yet .............. So, we pray for Them to ALLAH to grant them peace wherever they are for all the suffering they went through to deliver us THE Message from Almighty ALLAH .......... Insha'ALLAH (GOD Willing) They all will enter Heaven in the Afterlife.

Of course they're in Heaven and in peace. But we also praise God, where He doesn't need it. It's just a sign of respect.

It's a respect thing! Allah doesn't need us to pray to him and to do good deeds in his name but we do it! The Prophets do not need anything from us but we would like to show them respect and gratitude!
