I'm Christian. Roman Catholic. I've just responded to at lest 3 posts (in a row) attacking my faith.
#1: "Not 10 people in the world hate Catholicism. Millions hate what they mistake Catholicism for."
#2: Is there something so wrong with wanting a little order for a couple hours a week? (If you're into it, it carries over to the rest of the week.)
Why am I hated for wanting guidance on how to live my life & wanting to not have to figure out how to do it on my own?
#3: Why do so many people want me to be confused & angry like them? I'm happy, which upsets them. Why?

I pray to God Almighty that I don't get TOO much hate mail from my fellow humans...that's you guys.
Have mercy in your answers, please.

I know a couple of girls who are very well on their way to an eating disorder. I'm not the best of friends with them, but I still care that they could end up hurting or killing themselves over their appearances. I've thought it over and I really want to talk to them about it before it gets out of hand if it hasn't already, but some people are telling me that it's not a very Christian thing to do because it's none of my business what they're doing. What should I do? Should I tell them what I think or just sit back and watch them hurt themselves? Any advice would be appreciated. I just want to know what would be the best Christian way to go about this. Thanks!

God gave man free will. Because he wants you to want to come to him. He doesn't want you to be made to come to him. You can do as God wants and spread the word of the Lord. That doesn't mean you beat someone over the head until they say ok.

Either from a religious or humanistic standpoint, do we have an obligation to prevent genocide, or inhumane acts against our fellow humans?

If your answer is yes, then what "standard" do we use based on the differing cultural attitudes as what constitutes inhumane?

To what degree are we obligated to assist?
