I'm a Christian, and I know Evolution is working. I do disagree with Darwin's hypothesis that people should compete for survival within our own species. That is anti-christ. Survival of the fittest is for the natural world. Christians are not natural. Christians are inspired with a spirit, foreign to all other species. That Holy spirit spawns behavior such as; Charity, Passive Civil Disobedience, Art, Music, and anything creative.

Have you heard that we are in this world, but not of it? If you believe that is true, then you are closer to Christ, than Darwin.

I think some of them realize how almost unbelievable the story of creationism is. I know that when I tell people that I'm a Christian and believe in evolution that people get a little defensive and call me a sinner or a blasphemer or whatever. But when it comes down to it, I'm smart enough to realize that whoever wrote Genesis wasn't actually there for it and it was more God-inspired than anything and that science has been able to prove that some sort of evolution exists and it makes sense.

Intellegent Design shows us that within the gaps in science, the signature of God, the Creator (Designer) is found. All the unanswered questions of Theology and Science can be answered when you merge equal parts of each. The principle of Science Harmoniously Integrating Theology (or S.H.I.T.) teaches that the unknown will become known and the unanswerable will be answered when Science and Theology are properly merged. Thus mankind can only obtain true enlightenment within a world of S.H.I.T.

* There are proven gaps in scientific knowledge.
* Intelligence leaves behind a characteristic signature (like an artist) of logical progression through a series of systematic methodical stages.
* The gaps in science are filled in by acts of a Designer.
* The scientific study of fossil records reveals these signatures again and again.
* God Created the process of Evolution!
* Evolution shows the existence of God!

The theory of evolution is contradictory to the attributes of God.

The teaching of evolution to people convinces many of them that they are hardly more than a mechanistic product of a mindless universe, that there is no one to whom they are responsible that they are only responsible to themselves.

Yes, one can be a Christian and an evolutionist, but such a position is both scientifically and biblically untenable. The Lord Jesus took a literal view of Genesis. The theory of evolution is dishonouring to God as Creator, and its teaching leads to a disastrous secularizing of society.

It all depends on what you feel inside about it. I consider myself a Christian, and yet I still find evolution compatible with my beliefs. I personally believe that the "7 days" of creation mentioned in Genesis, is actually a period of time that could've spanned millions of years. During this time, God allowed the earth to be evolved and formed naturally.

I would question the true beliefs of anyone who calls themselves Christian and evolutionist at the same time. For a so-called Chrisitian to believe in evolution is rejecting the Biblical version of how things were created, and therefore rejecting God. No one can straddle the fence on their beliefs and still be considered credible, regardless of what they believe.

It is impossible for a Christian to be an evolutionist. Christians are to believe everything that the bible teaches, and the bible does not teach evolution. If an evolutionist calls him/her self a Christian, they are lying.

It's caused by the evolution of Christianity.

Seriously, though... it's because some Christians are realistic and some are completely ignorant.

If one believes anything other then the Word of God then they are not a Christian. Christian means, follower of Christ or little Christ, and a true Christian will not believe in anything but the creation of all things by God, which is what Jesus and all of His True followers believe and teach. Either you are for Him or against Him, no middle of the road

From what I know of Christians of both varieties, I would say there is a simple formula. The depth of your religious understanding is directly proportional to your respect for science.

There are religious biologists whose sense of spirituality merits nothing but respect. But it is a profound understanding that sees their creator's greatness precisely where the others cannot because they will not look. Theirs are no easy literalist renditions, and lame "interpretations" of scripture. They understand that God must transcend the petty inconsistencies of man's scribblings. To them our ability to conduct science is yet another of His gifts.

To some of them the blasphemy is on the other foot with respect to evolution. They will tell you that a concept of God that calls for his "revelation" as a cellular designer belittles Him. For one in particular, "Evolution is one more manifestation of His awesome greatness."

By the way, at least one school of theology condemns anti-scientific reductionism as a denial of His greatness.
