"Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Ok, God does not want you to burn animals, and espically not people. That is in the Old Testament. We are no longer under that testament b/c Jesus died on the cross. I assume that you are Jewish and may not belive in Jesus. Regardless, you really should read the new testament. Go to a Christian Bookstore pick up a full version of the Bible and read it. If you chose not to, and you are Jewish, i understand. But from my understanding the modern Jewish Churches does not do that anyway. So either read the New Testament or talk to your local rabbi. God bless you.

I do think that's a bit out of context, but it's true. i remember reading a story in the old testament where God gave the order to destroy a town, because it was wicked and was worshipping false gods. God told His people to completely wipe out the town, leaving no one alive. He said to gather all the items, and to burn them, and not to take any prisoners or any treasure from the city. Of course, some of His people disobeyed him and took for them wives from this city and took treasure from the city. They were later executed by God for their disobedience. God was brutal in the old days, but it was always a righteous act and a righteous anger that was present. What God did was necessary and was right to do. Though we may not understand, it's not our place to understand sometimes.

First of all you must realize this is old testament when man lived
under the "law of god." The ten commandments and laws that were broken before the sacrifice of Jesus Christ were dealt with differently. A different dispensation of time. After the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ we now live "under grace" God is slow to anger for which we have our adversay Jesus Christ making intercession for us on all accounts. It is not whether or not god is telling you to do these acts, for which I know he's not. It is really rather or not you have accepted Jesus Christ in your life and believed in him. His love, mercy and grace will enable you to interpret the bible correctly.

This is from the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). If you believe in Jesus, He takes the place of any burnt sacrifice and judgement of others. I am not Jewish, so I can not really address thier views, although I think this took place back in the time Isreal was ruled by Hebrew Judges, which they are not under at this time( I think).

You have the focus in the wrong place. God is telling them to get rid of the plunder of the captured cities. What God is warning them about is exactly what happens to them. The dont completely capture the city. They marry the women of that city...they bring along their idols and then the israelites fall into idol worhip. Maybe God knew what he was talking about.

HE doesn't. Christ paid the price for one and all for all time when he obeyed our Heavenly Father and allowed himself to be crucified on that cross at Cavelry.
Only Satan or one of his deciples would try to twist our Fathers word in such a manner !

Sometimes you have an enemy and you just have to take care of business, being a good steward of what you've been given sometimes means taking out people who would harm it.
I don't think God is calling you to that now.
