Heterosexuals (or straight people) don't have parades, or festivals for special days - why for gays? Why does this have to be shoved down everyones throat. We get it , your gay.

Thank you sooooo much I have wondered the same thing. I think they feel being gay is something the whole world needs to know just so people do not ask them why they are not with the opp. sex. Also I guess it makes them feel better

In a perfect world; your question would make much more sense. The Pride Parades you are referring to, exist because there are no other avenues to celebrate and indicate to others you're not along. Like Afro-American they have been alienated, and therefore took measures to provide their own venue to communicate. By the way, Pride Parades are no different than Parades celebrating St Patty's, Cinco de Mayo, Chinese New Years, etc.....

well.... theres black history month. they get a month! i think parades started before people were even openly homosexual, the fact is it has never been something people look and smile at, untel now days because people have open minds, i have friends that are homosexuals, there people , body a brain . we are all the same, the people who cant accept it are the ones that are different , because they are affraid of change. you dont have to watch the parades either , you can just look away . and pretend that we are all the same when we are not! =D

The reason is because the assumption of heterosexuality pervades our world, like air. People in the world ASSUME that everyone is heterosexual and treat them is if they are heterosexual. Coming out and stuff is just correcting that erroneous assumption. Otherwise we are letting you believe a falsehood. Of course we would rather you don't assume we're gay at all. But trust me, you are doing it. Try to watch for times when you do it, because that forces people to either accept the wrong assumption or 'come out' of the closet.

Because, straight people don't let us gays have freedom like straights do, so we have certain DAYS that we can go out and have fun and be who were are without you guys gay bashing us, you guys are free all the time were not! get over it a couple days out of 365 isn't gonna kill you!

Lol aww. that's kinda mean. I guess it's just like gay pride or whatever. They're here, and they're not going anywhere. I have no problem with it.

We don't. What others choose to do in their bedrooms ought to stay in their bedrooms.
