It's happens everyday regardless what the bible says. You will kill a christian if he/she enters your house unannounced. When someone is being violated anywhere they will protect themselves from anyone and especially from there family. Try looking for good in the bible 4 ur self instead of the historical war battles.

There's a lot of killing in the Bible, true -- but most of it involves combatants in war.

The Bible records the whole gamut of human experience -- and one element of human experience is, sadly but undeniably, death.

By the way, as far as I know, the Bible never commanded anyone to kill others just because they didn't believe in the Lord. The New Testament certainly never does that, anyway.

The Old Testament documents wars between the Israelites and other nations whose religions were different -- but there were lots of issues at play besides just the different religions. The religious differences were not the big reason they went to war.

There is the concept of a "just war" that gets envoked from time to time. The Old Testament describes God calling a war on someone as punishment for the sins of a king or the population in general. The Christian (New) Testament doesn't have any such direct statement. There are the indirect, such as when Jesus returns as king of the world and puts down the assembly of armies at Armaggedon, or as with John the Baptist's address to soldiers, which was essentially 'be content with your wages and don't unnecessarily harm people'--which allowed them to do so as when following orders but not to be malicious because of their own meanness. WWI hero York was a pacifist who was drafted. He even considered going to jail rather than kill in war. When he was thinking the matter over though, he saw the passage where Jesus said, "Give unto Ceasar the things that are Ceasar's and unto God the things that are God's". So the equivalent of the Ceasar of his day was calling for him to go to war. Being a good rifle shooter because of his hunting skills, he did kill. What made him a hero, though, was in the way he skillfully killed in order to capture an enemy force rather than kill them all. He killed some so that he could accomplish the mission without killing all.

Contrary to the Quran, the Bible does not order believers to kill those perceived as wicked about them, rather to pray for them and "as much as lies in you live peaceably with all" (some of us have a little more of that ability to live peaceably in us than others). The Bible does not instruct us to kill prostitutes or abortionists or drug dealers. But the Bible does make it crystal clear that the believer may be called to war--and it doesn't say don't go or don't kill when you go. The "Thou shalt not kill" of the 10 Comandments is more like, when the urge comes to throttle your family, friends, neighbors, ugly persons, or mean bosses, don't--those people's lives are equally precious as yours, murderous scenarios distinctly different from fighting a war.

Would I? If it did, but it doesn't.

In the Old Testament, God's people were a nation and went to war with other nations. They were also commanded to implement the death penalty for certain crimes. Individuals were not allowed to deliver the death penalty, but as a nation it was to be done. It was their governing law as well as their religious law.

Christians are not a nation in the same way. We are a spiritual nation. As such, we do not have wars against nations or people. We war with "principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

I would not kill non-believers because according to the Bible it goes against what God wants me to do.

nope because murder is a sin. people are nuts and I really don't think that it has anything to do with the bible. I think it's their brain (which they obviously don't have if they are killing people).
