To make a long story short, someone who is not willing to committ, but keeps comming around because they can't bare to be without the person and even when ties are broken they continuosly return...... (they know that it will not work, tooo much barriers) unhealthy situation in every aspect! Is that feeling of helplessness just an unhealthy relationship? Or is it just caring a lot for someone that you find it hard to let go of?

I've had this problem since i was a kid that i like to steal things just for the thrill of it. in two occasions i've gotten cought & thrown in jail the second time. I regret it so much but i wonder- why did my mom not help me by taking me to a therapist etc when all this started when i was a kid?? Now i'm 24 and i'm over all that and wouldn't steal even a candy from a store for the fear of being thrown in jail. Is there any special therapy or psychologists that could help with this problem?? i really think i had a problem & now thati have a 4 yr old i'm scared that he may inherit my crazy behavior- what should i do or how could i tell if he starts behaving the way i did without thinking he has a psychological problem like i did?? how can i get over this?? i think i'm over it & wouldn't steal again but- how can i teach my son that stealing is wrong when i did it most of my life?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you think there has to be a reason for everything? Or that we can just choose to do something for no reason? Or that we always just unconsciously rationalize our decisions even when they don't make sense? Any opinion or view on it is welcome.

I dont have children, but I do deal with them daily. why is it that people think if you spank a child it solves the problem ? I am not against a simple spanking when needed, but when you and your wife/husband have a problem you dont go around hitting each other, Why ? Cause it's wrong. So if the right thing to do is talk it out and try to fix it why dont we believe that when it comes to kids ?

In junior high school I had a class with a teacher that didnt care about instruction and I sat in the front row next to a girl I was already known for being picked on in class for being overweight and then some girl would tell me I am hot and say when are we dating and talk to me sexually embarrassing me in front of everyone and the teacher would go along with it. Everday I would get red faced so much it was terrible I hated it. Now ten years later and I am in Philosophy in college and they talk about sex open and I get embarrassed I know everyone thinks that I am a weirdo but I am not I just had a flashback and turned red the first day of class and now its like a psychological thing so that whenever it happens I turn red and sweat and i hate it what should I do?

I took this personality test and it says that I am INTP. They are introverted thinkers. I dont agree. I love being around people but am to lazy to go out with my friends. I rather stay home. When Im alone I feel depressed and lonely but thats when Im at my best. During that time I read faster, do better school work and draw better, but Im still depressed and lonely. It is true about being around to many people makes me angry and upset but sometimes I feed off of others energy. If people are in a shitty mood I feel good, if they're in a good mood, I wont feel good about my self. What's up with that?

I attended therapy in Charlotte, N.C. and worked with a psychiatrist as well as a psychologist that I was really fond of, but unfortunetly the psychiatrist actually accepted a position in AZ, while my psychologist went into private practice, which made it impossible for me to afford to continue seeing him as I was meeting with the psychologist in a hospital that offered a sliding-scale fee. Since then, I have returned home to N.Y. and have found a facility that accepts my Medicaid, but they offer mostly Nurse Practitioners and Social Workers in lieu of Psychiatrists and Psychologists. I know that they are intelligent people and I respect what they have accomplished, but I am concerned that perhaps they would be less able to help me than soeone who is a bit more qualified. I actually recall my psychiatrist saying my situation would be too much for a social worker as I'm going through several different issues. I'm just wondering if Nurse Practioners and Social Workers are good

Like in a class. Or a status?
I'm kinda of making a philosophy.
If you don't label yourself, why must you label your feelings? Have you ever had that feeling that you don't know what to call it? You try to acknowledge it but don't know what it is?

I am divorced and currently live with my parents. I am looking to move out soon. My daughter is 15 and lives with her grandmother in another state. He Dad moved due to job reasons during the middle of the school year.

I am finding that being divorced can be lonely at times. Everyone is busy with their own life.

I e-mail my brother because we had a misunderstanding and he does not reply. He does talk to my daughter, but not me.

I call my cousin asking if we can get together some weekend (she lives about 6 hours away) and she does not reply.

Everyone is so busy with their own life and now my daughter does not want to talk to me also. She talks to my brother and mother, but not me.

Its like I am basically alone and have to find things to keep myself busy. When you are married and have a family, time takes care of itself. You are so busy with the house and children.

Its an adjustment and not easy to deal with.

Every known organism comes into existence, ages (lives), then ceases to exist. Every organism ages. Every organism seem to be born with the same affliction or disease, it's called aging.
Here is a fact: A few years ago, scientists believed they discovered the gene that controlled aging. They are trying to figure out how to control the gene and make it stop doing what it's doing or to slow it down. It could show that aging may not be as natural as everyone thinks. It makes me look at aging in a a very different light; like something that can be cured.
Please EXCLUDE answers that would involve God and religion. Also, I can imagine what this would do to the world population and its scarce resources.

I am a guy just turning 31 and I am getting incredibly depressed because I realized, because of a combination of poor choices and bad luck, my life is totally screwed up.

I received a masters degree in biology from a top school in 2000. Because of a poor economy and a non-technical degree I had a very hard time finding a job. Finally I found a job doing something I hated, I switched comapnies 3 times but nobody wanted to hire me for anything else.
Two years ago, I was finally able to make a career change to finance and consulting.
Now I'm losing my job, and nobody wants to even interview me because my career experience/degree are too mixed and specialized in unrelated fields.
The only interviews I am offered are for positions doing the original thing I hated.

I am also single. Over the years I have had several girlfriends and relationships but never fell in love. Now I am old, and I never met anyone who liked me that I even felt strongly about to continue seeing.

For my speech class, we're required to pick a topic related to our course for our informative speech. My course is Psychology and I've decided to write my 5 minute speech based on the concept of encoding specificity. I have an idea of how I want it to start, but then.. that's all I have. Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Or, if you think of any other topic worth discussing, let me know? HEEEELP.
