Are business men and wemen more likely to purchase from sexy salespeople versus a plain jane person?

People like to interact more with attractive people more versus plain ones.
It works for both sexes. Plus, there is the subliminal factor of wanting to subsonciously impress the attractive person. So, yes it does work.
While most people can brush off an unattractive person easier, they will want to stay in the company of a beautiful person even if it is long enough to hear the sales pitch, so if this person has the business skills to back his/her looks, the result will more likely be a closed sale.

Hope this answers your question.

Let me share my experience.
I once worked for an auto-parts store. It was my job to transport parts to and from other businesses.
When I started the job, I was pretty plain-looking. Then I got a divorce and started to like myself. I lost 80 pounds, dyed my hair red, and wore sexy clothes. The businesses that used my services called the store more and more.
On Halloween, I wore cat ears, a cat tail, and a studded collar. My costume was complete with black and shapely shirt and pants. After making a couple of deliveries to those businesses, I was suddenly busy all day, delivering stuff I know they didn't need to these places!

well depends who they are trying to sell products to. I've been in a committed relationship going on 5 yrs and if a really good looking guy came up to me trying to sell me something depending how good & useful the product turns our for me i would buy it other than that his looks wouldn't affect if i'm gonna buy the product or not. Same goes with my bf- he would buy a product that he would benefit from no matter what the sales person looks like i find that most people that would fall for it would be single people just for the heck of having the sales person's number.

depends on the product actually. If the product doesnt need much description and technique and you want the customer to know exactly what she is going to buy, then dont use the sexy ones....

rest is ok....
