I am assuming you are talking about money buys anything. You are almost right, but a few things can't be bought.
I also am assuming the aliens are from another country, not
another planet.
It is not strange at all. People do it all the time, but in some countries the green piece's of paper are a different color, and you can buy more in some places than in others.
Love and respect are 2 things that have to be earned and can't be boughten.
What would make you ask such a strange question?
Are you thinking about Paris Hilton getting to go home sooner or O.J. getting away with murder?

Well, they are us only on a different path for some time now. And.. they gave us the system so we could start to occupy the same space without destroying each other which eventually leads to civilization. Think about it.

Yes it seems weird...and I also think that an alien would think that those moving things rule the earth.... we build highways for them... put gas on them everyday (like feeding them) we worship them by cleaning them and we waste green papers to make them look better...and the prettier the better...oh there are big big building where we help them give birth to newer and better of them (cars)
