I am 57,, and aging gracefully, because I refuse to get fat, lazy, etc. I look forward to a very active retirement, and good health. If I do have a body part fall off, or get mangled, or becomes unusable, I will just adapt. Age is not to be feared,,but embraced. If I was still young, I would not have thre wonderful grandkids to tickle, or hug. I would not have the experience, education, and wisdom, I now have,,,and If i was still young,, I might be still messed in the head, over my exwife, ( the beast) So, I have nothing to fear,,but, I do look forward to more,,much more.

There is security issues here. You find out why he is insecure and problem solved. Try a night light. Night mares could be playing a key role in this. Monitor his TV, games etc. this may help. The change between child and teen can be a dramatic time for some children. Maybe he is being bullied in school. There is always a reason when a child displays fear. Watch him during the day to see what types of other behavior is changing. Sometimes, as parents we need to step back from the problem and look at it as an observer not as a parent.

I, like you feel the same way. Here is an interesting way to think about old age: Pretend old age or aging is a disease; really. I think of it like a common cold. It is something that you can fight back against and or prevent.
This is a fact: A few years ago, scientists believed they discovered the gene that controls aging. They are trying to figure out how to control the gene and make it stop doing what it's doing or to slow it down. No breakthroughs yet however. But it could show that aging may not be as natural as everyone thinks.

Of course there is a method. Life without think in your age, enjoy the moment, cause it can be the last. More thinks you do less fear to the age.
And remember every moment that life is a mistake, a dream, its not real, and for that is not so serious to take it so serious.
The only real problem with the age is if you can not do some thinks, but the world is so huge, look for other hobbies, the world if full of thinks to do.
And remember, with more years, more experience, an important piece of knowledge.

Take one day at a time,& live it full. don't fret, it will seem to come faster. One day you will wake up and you will be old and when you look back you will not have lived the life that you had, you will have worried about getting old. And for what, age will come no matter what you do. No one can stop time. Enjoy your life while you are living it. I am in my twenties and i once said to a coworker that i didn't want to get old, and she (about 20 or so years older than me) said, it is wonderful and to look forward to it. It made me think, besides I hear that 50 is the new 20

Some people say to try and live each day as if it is your last. That way you get the most out of it.
Being mindful of the unavoidable future is not a bad thing, but you do need to try and not worry so much about it.
Think of all the people you care about and try to make the most out of it. Enjoy experiences with them, and spread love and happiness.
Try to see what life has to offer, maybe explore the world and see famous landmarks? Such as the wall of china.
If you appreciate life and make the most out of it, you may worry less about the future.

i can empathise - i feel the same
i try to cope by telling myself that i must try real hard to make the most of every day
so i never lie in, i always get up as early as i can and do stuff
time in bed is precious time wasted
sometimes i get scared of silly little things like not being able to look up into a brilliant blue sky and feel awestruck by the clouds
i have a song that will help you
its called "the world is outside"
i hope it makes you feel more optimistic - it works for me!

I'm not afraid of dying because I gave my life to Jesus and I know my eternal home is in Heaven. Be with uplifting fun people. You obviously won't get younger but you'll feel better.
