For my speech class, we're required to pick a topic related to our course for our informative speech. My course is Psychology and I've decided to write my 5 minute speech based on the concept of encoding specificity. I have an idea of how I want it to start, but then.. that's all I have. Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Or, if you think of any other topic worth discussing, let me know? HEEEELP.

can't help you with that topic...but i always found it interesting the differences between psychotherapy and behavioral modification...especially in regards to which is more appropriate for a client...perhaps that would be more informative to your class because some might be in one and actually need the other...just a suggestion

When in doubt, start Your speech with a question to the audience. "Can anyone here tell Me what " The Concept of Encoded Specificity" actually means? If someone puts Their hand up, ask Them to give You a definition. If no body volunteers, just say, "Well it looks like I am the only one here who does, and this is what I think" Then go for it. Either way You have the topic at Your disposal.

im a psyc student too,and i love it but i find now that i know a bit about it that a speech is better if you have some experience yourself it makes it easier to get the point across and your passion for a topic will come through ,im a great believer though in bandura -behavior being learned from what we observe when were young ,very interesting and makes a lot of sense without all the psycho babble they tend to go round in circles sometimes ,dont ya reckon ...

how about if you pick social psychology and talk about facts and "common sense". People tend to think that opposite attracts but the fact (from sos psys) is that you need similarities in life.. or that knowing someone likes you..you start to like them back...etc. find few things like this and do your speech on that... you can start it by even asking a fact or myth ques. and go from there.. let me know if you need more help with topics... or else good luck and do good...

yes, maybe do a research paper on personality disorders such as antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder etc, psychopaths and narcissists are very interesting to research, you could almost consider psychopaths a sought of sub species of human because their brains are wired so differently, but i'll leave that for you to find out ;) if that doesn't do it for you then maybe research some other disorders or maybe some psychology on how people react to different things. hope i helped :)
