My sis is four and when she sees my parents together, she gets VERY jealous. Usually, they'll be talking to eachother and she doesn't really mind. But when they are close together i.e. sitting on the couch together, holding eachother, hugging she'll try to get in between them or demand them to break away. I remember she saw them kiss eachother and she just broke out in tears and want my mom to pick her up. Another time my parents anniversary came around and they were explaining to her why they were going somewhere, she didn't want them to leave. While my father was explaining to her she was "eww"-ing. I have no clue why she thought that was disgusting, the idea of them getting married or celebrating. She started teasing them about them being married (beats me). She saw my older brother hugging my mother and she started talking the usual crap. (ewwing, teasing, telling her to stop). When I hug my mother she never does it to me though. (?) My parents always give her att. she's spoiled

How can people be so mean?

How can they just say such hurtful stuff without considering the feelings of the person they are saying it to? Especially when they don't even know the person that well?

How can they just assume stuff, and then blame you for it, when they don't even know the situation?

What are everybody's opinions on these questions?

S Friend taking advantage??
Advice on a friend problem??
i have this friend whose mom died a year ago, and since then her dad has been trying to figure out how to discipline her. she basically spends more time at my house than at her own, we take her everywhere (like shopping, out to dinner, etc) and one time she even spent the night 9 nights in a row on school days. we feed her dinner and take her home from school every day, some days even to school. so finally her dad agreed to take us to the mall and then out to dinner. i was super excited because im still getting used to feeling well and being able to get out of the house because all of my life i have struggled with heart problems and surgeries and mild depression and anxiety disorder. but he said he would only take us if she went to japanese school. She had been skipping it for two months (her dad was transferred here from japan when she was really little) and she only had to go one morning because it was the last day of school. If she did that, we could go. She agreed to the deal and so the next day I got all ready and was waiting for her to pick me up and she calls me and goes oh sorry I decided not to go to Japanese school so we cant go. So our plans for that day and the following day were cancelled because she hadn’t wanted to go. I don’t want to sound bitchy or anything, but I want to let her no how upset that made me. I have done so much for her and wonder why she cant do me one little favor?? I don’t know… I don’t want to overreact. Honestly am I?? Do u think I should let her no how I feel or not?? Should I just let it go?? If I should tell her how I feel, wat do I say so as not to make a big deal about the whole situation??

Does drinking take you closer or farther away from the "real" you?

Some people just become completely different when they are drunk which makes me wonder...

What do you think?

Is this who they REALLY are? I mean, if drinking makes you "let go", then by not caring about what others think of you and how you should act, you're just being yourself.

So in that sense, couldn't a person LEARN more about themselves and others by observing who they are when they're drunk?

Or would you say that drinking takes you FARTHER away from the "real" you by manipulating your thoughts, increasing sex drive, ect?

I'm 16 years old, 17 in less than a month. Last November I was diagnosed with ADD, and this month my psychologist finally admitted I have depression as well. (I think he didn't want to burden me with the knowledge that I had two problems...)
I've been severely depressed for the last two years or so. The only person who I've ever truly loved stopped being my friend (I never told him I liked him or anything), and my life as well as my grades have deteriorated since. Schoolwork has also gotten tougher, and my above average IQ got me by before high school.
Before I was diagnosed with ADD and depression, my parents yelled at me and held me responsible for my falling grades. I suffered many breakdowns and it wasn't until I asked if I could be tested for a psychological problem did they take me to a doctor. I tried three different types of meds, and had side effects. I'm on Lexapro now, and it's not working. (will continue this question in a moment)
