Why?

"Just because people can express themselves through their art doesn't mean they are great communicators in person." Christie Brinkley.

"I'm a very private person, and when I leave the stage, I leave the stage." Helen Reddy.

Still looking for a good Horror/Ghost story idea for a contest. Not to say, the other answers I've received haven't been good. I'm just trying to explore my options. I'm thinking that maybe taking something you would never think of as scary could turn on you...comments.

I am very unhappy with my life and i feel overwhelmed. usually i am the one giving all the advice. and from what i'm told, i'm pretty good. but the problem now is that i need advice and people around me are too close for comfort. basically i need to talk to someone unrelated. Is there something wrong with going to a psychologist. i knwo that i am useless to others when i am all screwed up myself.

I'm american but i can't speak english well PLus i haven't talked much my whole life cause i'm a quiet person. When i speak, anything i say doesn't make sense although i try my best. Also i have trouble with reading, i can't remember what i read at all. I can't remember vocabulary either, and although i'm 27 i wound like a 10 year old kid.

Well , however, i study a forieng language Japanese...Although i'm not perfect, i can speak pretty good, have a good accent and whenever i speak it( in voice chat mostly cause don't have jpan friends), it's awesome and i can communicate with the people of that country. Yet i feel like no matter how much i study, i get stuck alot on conversation because i can't remember many of the things i studied. so i've studied alot of vocab but when i need to use it i can't remember any of it.

I was reading up on child language acquistion (first language) and it struck me that there were so many theories and yet we still, after so many years of research, lack one dominant theory. Why is that?

Some smokers are perfectly likable people, so this doesn't apply to all of them, but I see butts all over the ground on sidewalk and other areas when there are garbage cans nearby.

Do they not consider cigarette butts to be litter? Thanks.

I've tried putting this question under singles and dating, but it wasn't the best advice...
I need help, because, most guys don't like me because I am too annoying, and sometimes I become too obsessed. I am obsessed with my ex right now, and I dont know how to just turn around and leave. I've tried leaving him alone, but he is making this an exciting chase for me. And he really doesn't want to have anything to do with me anymore. What should I do?

I am curious about what happens to most people whom were outcasts/pariahs amongst their peers when they were younger. You know the type..the one who eats alone in the cafeteria, last picked for teams in gym class, snubbed, mocked, and (in middle school and/or high school)had trouble getting dates. Did most of these outcasts also feel outcasted/belittled by their family?(not necessarily an abusive or neglecting family situation...perhaps the kid was made fun of by younger siblings or something like that) Do most of these outcasts later blend in with society, or do they stay outcasts? Are they more prone to get into trouble(legal, drugs, etc) later in life, or less? Do they generally turn out more succesful($ and career-wise) than their peers, or less? Also, what effects does being an outcast have on their social skills & personas later on in life

It'd be especially helpful if former childhood/adolescent outcasts, or people in the psychology field, would contribute an answer to this
