Psychology - November 2006

For some money is power. For others money is everything. Some people say money makes the world go round. I'm sure you've all heard that money is the root of all evil. They also say that money can't buy you happiness. The one thing that is true about money, when you die you can't take it with you!For me money is a means, not an end. It is a way to get the things I want and need, but it doesn't make me happy.
Now tell us what does money mean to you?

Is it just their job, or do you think it takes that type of personality to do a job like that? I have been put down and literally told that I'm stupid when talking to bill collectors. I don't like the fact that I've even been put in that position, but when all the bills can't get paid you do what you have to do. Point in case: ....I had a bill collector call me regarding a hospital bill for my young son that I could not pay. I had taken him to the hospital as his regular doctor was closed.( He had a bad virus and had become extremely dehydrated very quickly. We spent the better part of the night in ER, with him hooked up to IV's and everything. ) I tried to tell her very politely that we had very little money and that I could pay a very small amount each month, but not what she was saying would suffice. She had the nerve to tell me that if I couldn't pay the bill then I shouldn't have taken my son to the hospital! Well, needless to say, i crawled up one side and down the other of that

how to hold on for 1 1/2 months in this condition? I really can't take no more. i've been in this condition for 3 1/2 months and am tired. really. no changes, no miracles from God, and so what do you think , is waiting for 1 1/2 months is a long time? I'm 14 btw. thx. at least give me a reason why I should be here where NO ONE here (my fam don't live with me, I'm studying abroad) cares whether I'm here or not, and how to deal with this suicidal thinking everyday which really drives me mad.. time is like mocking me...

Not to generalize,but why is it that alot of the women i've come across who have had deep rooted psychological problems have sometimes been the most intelligent ones i've met?Is there any correlation,or is it just coincidence?I also find that the majority of these types of women are perfectionists.

I'm a single mother(50) of two boys I also take care of a mentally challeged relative. I have no other family to help and income is limited. I work parttime also ... I feel so stressed and lonely .

If i went on my skools tv and talked about learning disabiltys. See i was in a beauty pagent a month ago and i representchildren with learning disabilties cause i also have a learning disabilty well they asked me to be interview and of course i say yes. you are driving down the road going 55 mph and there is a car on the other side of the road also going 55mph, as you pass one another would you rather that person be drunk or high on marajuana.(Can't choose neither one.) It's not good to drive under the influence but really i would rather them be high. Pot is illegal but i think people get into more trouble from alcohol than pot.

I had a dream the other night that I had a spider attached to my pinky toe. It was like it had grown into part of my toe, actually...ick. It was jet black with red markings on it. In my dream someone told me I should go to the doctor, but I kept putting it off even though it was bothering me. Finally, part of the spider crumbled off of my foot, but I remember feeling pretty grossed out. Does anyone have a good interpretation of this?? I like looking at dream dictionaries, but was wondering if anyone out there knew about dream themes, because this dream was a little disturbing to me...

I have a friend that is so kind and gracious. Absolutely beautiful girl approached by nice guys all the time and never dates them. Instead she focuses on these guys that are totally "bad"! They have tattoes and the words that come out of their mouth are profane. Many have usually been to jail. In the past she has told me about how dominant they are and controlling in the bedroom. She says she love that about that them. She is totally attracted to these guys and only these guys. I could not understand it until recently she told me about her first experience and it was a violent sexual assault. To make matters worse she was a virgin. I saw the connection immediately and tried to help her see it. She told me that's the past and she is simply a good girl who likes bad guys. However, I do remember that a couple of months ago she said something about not feeling normal. I am trying to help her but now she says that's the past and she's simply submissive.

i have a very bad shower phobia. does anyone know if theres a name for it? haven't been able to find anything about it as yet. Its the whole thing, the fact of stepping in the cubicle, with the showerhead, it sounds so ridiculous, but it terrifies the you know what out of me. I could never, in a million years step in the cublicle and shut the door behind me, which is really rubbish as most people do this on a daily basis! I just find the whole idea of being underneath the showerhead absolutly terrifying. Luckily we have a bathtub so no showers, but on holidays, its torture. I have to literally stand at the edge of the cubicle not daring to step in, half in, and half out, and attempt to wash like that! , which is really stupid i know but. Anyone know anything which could help?

Well, I have the same problem with psychologists. I don't like the ideea of them knowing and reading me out more than I allow them to. I feel that all my defense systems fall apart and that they can see right through me... The thing is I can't avoid these guys because of my work, and I want to get over it - they probably mean no harm anyway - but still... I feel so awkward around them!
