Is emotion what we experience during gaps in our thinking?

No. Emotion is always on - like the flame on a gas stove, which is sometimes on low, sometimes on medium, and sometimes on high; but they're always running in conjuction (and sometimes underneath) our thinking.

no emotion is in your conscious, dreaming is in your unconscious which in a way is your gaps in thinking
