I used to think (for some strange and irrational reason) that inside my mums lcd alarm clock there was some kind of operating room. That behind the green numbers were metal tables and tiny men in green coates in there waiting to operate on me in the geen light. Maybe there was- they never got me!

Mine was the tried and tested 'There's something under the bed' fear! I was petrified to even go to the loo, just in case a hand would grab my ankles and pull me under. Oddly to get over this fear, I started going to sleep with the light on, but under my bed!!!! The way I saw it, if I was already there, then nothing could come and hide. Logical to a small child!

In the house we used to life there was a baby carriage standing in the entrancehall. It was covered with a white sheet. I always thought theres is something terrible in this carriage, waiting just for me. I always closed my eyes and hurried up the stairs as fast as I coud.

I always feared something would grab my ankles through the back of the basement steps as I walked up them. (Not down though, for some strange reason)
To this day, I can FLY up stairs faster than a bullet!

I once watched an Alfred Hitchcock show & after that I was afraid that a snake would come up through the toilet (I read in the paper recently that this actually happened to someone).

Going up the stairway in the home I grew up in. I always ran up really really fast for fear of being grabbed by the guy hiding under my bed. :-)

I was afraid of strangers who smiled at me in buses or trains. I thought they'd come and kidnap me and take me away from my parents!

My worst childhood fear was that my mother would die and leave me alone. I remember telling her this when I was 4 and crying and she laughed and said that she wasn't going to die. She's still with me, thank God.
