suicide can never be "right".

it's a tragedy if a person reaches a point in their life where they feel suicide is their only option, how they got to that point may vary but the if the end result is their death then that can't be a good thing ... can it?

the best solution should always be that the person works through their problems, whatever they are. it's difficult to think of a single situation where choosing to die would be the correct choice, there are very few things that are worth that.

one possible exception would be if someone was suffering with an illness, but that would usually be assisted suicide or euthanasia, and that's a different arguement.

so, what leads people to commit suicide?

financial worries - often people are hugely in debt and can't see a way out, they may fear becoming destitute, or not being able to provide for their family ... usually you can find financial assistance if you ask in the right places, worst case you can declare bankruptcy which destroys your credit rating but at least stops anyone chasing you.

relationship problems / loneliness - no one is worth killing yourself over, it will get better. if you're lonely then join some clubs, get out and be around people, seek counselling if you're desperately unhappy, company from anyone is a great help, as is having someone to talk to.

there are many other reasons, but usually it relates to general unhappiness and low self esteem ... try to seek help rather than decide for yourself that you no longer want to live.

many people who commit suicide leave a bigger mess behind, children are left without fathers, parents are left without children, it's a terrible thing for anyone to leave behind.

think of the bigger picture, talk to someone ...

That depends on how many people will suffer if a person commits suicide. Are you talking about yourself? I'm sure your loved ones would be traumatized if you hurt yourself. I've felt suicidal, but when I think of my son, and how he would feel if I were gone, I know that it would be very wrong.

It is murder, even if of oneself--take it from there.
