All religions on earth have different answer to this question.

I can tell you what Islam says about this.

Like Christianity, Islam teaches the continued existence of the soul and a transformed physical existence after death. There will be a day of judgment and humanity will be divided between the eternal destinations of Paradise and Hell.

In Islamic doctrine, on the Last Day when the world will come to an end, the dead will be resurrected and judgment will be pronounced on every person in accordance with his deeds. Those condemned will burn in hellfire, and those saved will enjoy the abiding pleasures of paradise. Besides suffering in physical fire, the damned will also experience a fire "in their hearts"; similarly, the blessed, besides physical enjoyment, will experience the greatest happiness of divine pleasure.

funny answer Kent_Shakespear! I'm from Jersey...born and raided there and love it! and if you've got a problem with that, well....i dunno....
anyways, the body of the deceased either goes in the ground, gets cremated or goes into a mausoleum. if you're talking about spirit that's another story. let's just the person is buddhist, their spirit is in or goes to to nirvanna (no not the band, the place). if the person is a (born again) Chirsitain (like myself), their soul/spirit goes to heaven

It depends on your beliefs. I believe that this life on earth is just one stage of your existance and that you will move onto other things when you have learned what you need to learn or accomplish here.

It depends on one's beliefs. Different religions have different beliefs and some people just believe that when you die, you die...end of story.
