I find it quite funny that it's only women who have responded so far....

I think it's just because some people are so full of themselves, that they think that other people actually care about their opinion. Who gives a crap if you had an experience and you can somehow relate. Most of the time when people ask questions, they want cold hard facts, not opinions

Yes, I'm one of them.

Yes, we give opinions. This is primarily an entertainment entity. People who put credence in the answers posted here, do so at their own risk and peril (e.g. I, for one, would not trust my personal health status to the resources provided on this site.).

And there is provision to list one's source(s), if so desired (most tend to be links). So, by doing the research, we DO become knowledgeable.

Actually, I'm more concerned that there are so many lazy @$$es out there who are either incapable of doing their own research or too lazy to to do their homework.

Points, please!

I'm sorry, but if the question is asked in a way that 'invites' an opinion as the answer, then an opinion should be the answer. If a question is asked that invites both/either then giving and opinion is at least as valid as giving a 'fact' as the answer. On the 'rare occasions' that a question is asked that invites only a 'factual' answer (the Truth) then I answer it only if I know the factual answer (the Truth) ... which may 'seem to be an opinion' when you the asker reads it ... but in fact, you may be 'coloring the answers' according to your own inner feelings ... I frequently answer questions about things I don't 'believe in' just to 'set the record straight' if I don't see any other 'good answers' ... because I was taught to argue 'both sides' in every 'discussion' and to use critical thinking. This question may be 'critical' but you didn't 'think much' or you wouldn't have put your 'diatribe' against females and 'opinionated people' (your term, not mine) in your 'explanation' of the question.

The instructions do not say expert answers only. This is all about opinions. But I agree with you that some of the answers are only about showing their stupidity. Also see the previous answer by Butterfly. In her case it seems to be about points. Maybe it is a game and the one with the most points wins. Sadly if you compare the high point winners and the dumb *** answers, you see the same names. I wonder how many points I could have received from this answer if I had answered YUP to these 79 words for 79 questions?
How many of you counted?

Many of the questions posted on Y&A are asking for opinions. If someone has been through a similar situation, then I think they have a valid reason to answer the question. Sometimes experience is better than book knowledge. We should all be as smart as you are.

Because it's fun. So what if I am one of those people. I am not insulted by that.
My question is why would you aska question like this and expect to get anything but oppinnions?

It's not like this is a site for only Psychiatrists or something. If you really want to know the answer to your question you should try a different website for psychiatric proffessionals only.

Why do some people post a question that isn't even a question, it's a statement?
