Daydreams have truly made me think about my brain, and aswell as many things, strange and ludicrous, I had a brain storm strangly when I just used IM, to send a message to myshelf. And of course the thoughts I had about the subject were quite stupid, but in my own brain ponderous.

Why often are my own questions sometimes stupid, but to myshelf so intriguing that I write it down immediatly?

So this is not truly a question, but how often do you feel that you are on the edge of something great when you brainstorm only to be laughed at?

I'm not sure how to ask this, but I would really appreciate kind answers. I have plenty of negative in my life now :) I guess you could sum it up by saying I am in the empty nest syndrome, but also single/divorced for 20 years by choice, and no family and no friends due to extended illness. I am extroverted, love to be social, am a leader/strong personality, and I get used easy because I "reach out" and then expect the same back. What are some ways I could make new friendships that might grow deep enough to give me a "family" feeling eventually or feel like I belong somewhere. I bet there are widows and widowers on here who have ideas ??? ANd I've been in this smallish community for 32 years, but we have lots of new retirees with money moving in from CA, but I don't have money .

the best solution ive found so far is to force your mind to wander and not focus on any one thing.. is there any technique or way to reduce your suggestibility and avoid being hypnotized

We suffer as a result of the contents of our mind. Rumination, worry, worry! We are often eaten up by our remembered 'past' (and it is SO OVER that we can do nothing about it!). Our 'future' is often filled with hopes and dreams and rarely does it turn out the way we thought it would! If this is given just a little thought, I think it will lighten the suffering (mentally/emotionally), a great deal! So my question, is 'Now' all that we really know, for sure? I think to drop thoughts, not stop thoughts (that's impossible), to go about the life process, doing everything as usual, having fun, etc., but just watching the 'pasting' and 'futuring', letting the mind run on, endlessly...is something to 'think' about! :-) Someone told me once that "I", I mean "Me" is made up of thoughts...the ME that was born, free and unencumbered, this simple awareness, is really all that I am. The thoughts that drag at me, drag me down, are filled with "unnecessary suffering" .JUST SAY NO to them! :-)

If you can have everything you want. Everything you want to own then wouldn't that make you numb to everything and eventually become miserable?

You want something, get it, and then that's that! Next thing you know, you're craving something because you haven't got it and the cycle repeats... WHY do we always want endlessly??
