I know this is a little vague but in your opinion what book or video or courseware have you found to be the most enlightening regarding either understanding/predicting/counseling the behavior of others OR personal growth and development.

Say your dad hit you for stealing candy in the haloween bowl. or something like that when you where younger, 9-10 years later, you still think of it. How can you get over it when you try and it doesn't work? i know accepting things are hard in itself, but how?

This presentation must be three hours long with a handout to future counselors. I must summarize strengths, limitations, and populations served through the use of animals. Any websites about this topic will be helpful as well. Thanks.

That all the special offers such as buy one get one free etc were on "Junk food" Is this a conspiracy subsidised by the government so that we are less likley to live into our 80,s and 90,s (and beyond) therefore less of a drain on the tax system. Think about it people who are oap,s are not "economically viable" Therefore it could be a plan by the Government to reduce life expectancy by having us all overweight and unfit which (as a rule) = shorter life expectancy. Just a thought. Cheers

Do you think people born shy or do they become shy as they get older? Can shyness run in a family?

Me & my first boyfriend broke up 3 yrs ago & we went out for only a few months, but we became close very fast & had a very intense relationship. Our break-up was extremely dramatic & after that, I found it very hard to have feelings for anyone that were as strong as the ones I had for my ex. And after we broke up, he refused to remain friends & was very hostile towards me for really no reason at all considering he only broke up with me b/c we fought too much. I gave him my journal after we broke up & he apparently shot it with a rifle with his buddies. So he was very angry, as you can tell, after we broke up. To this day, I'm still not over what happened. Me & him haven't spoken in almost 2 years. I also heard through a mutual friend that he recently got engaged. Ever since then, whenever I'm with someone, I forget about him. But as soon as I'm alone again, I start thinking about him. I wish I knew why he hates me so much. How can I learn to let go? And will he ever stop hating me?

People tend to say men are perverted (as compared to women of course) but what is the psychological reason for this, if their is any. I believe their is one but I want some answers from others first. Hopefully this question makes sense. If not, another way to ask it, is why are men so perverted? Serious answers please!

When I was younger, I was raped by someone close to me. I was too afraid to tell anyone because my family all loved him. I couldn't hurt my dad or my grandmother...as they were closest to him. It happened for several years...from the time I was 9 until 14. It would happen every summer whenever he'd come to visit (he lived in another state).
Well, a few weeks ago, my sister was visiting. We were talking, and she told me she knew about what happened to me. I was shocked. I'd never told anyone, and I certainly didn't want my little sister knowing about it. I asked her how she knew, and she said he had bragged to her about it and told her that if she told anyone he would hurt her. Thankfully, we haven't seen him in years, but ever since she told me that, I've been having nightmares. I keep dreaming about people hurting me and my family. It's driving me nuts. I don't know how to make it stop or what to do about it.

Ok. Well I met this guy through mutual friends. We seen each other before. When my friend told me he was interested in me, I couldn't put the face with the name. Anyway, my friend's fiance works with him. So her fiance gave her his number to give to me to call him. She sent it to me through email.

Anyway, we talk and I thought we were called. I have alot of respect for him because he never asked the infamous question, "Can I comeover tonight?". We basically had general conversations. I tried to go deeper but our conversations remained on the surface level. It was like he was trying not to offend which is cool. Well my friend's fiance had a b-day party 2 weeks ago and we met up there. We had a good time. So I thought everything was cool.

I'm not expecting to receive a call everyday but when I do get a call I atleast want to have a conversation for more than 5 mins. Well I got a call from him on last tuesday. Well that conversation lasted less the 5 mins. He basically told me that his job worked him hard that day and he was tired. He asked me what time did I get off. I told him at 6. Then it was a pause like he wanted to ask me to stop by after work. We ended the call. I called him on thursday and he answered the phone and said he'll call me back. He was at work and busy and thats the last I heard from him. I left a message for him today and I didn't receive a phone call.

I know I shouldn't be putting alot of stock into this but I'm just confused. Things seemed like they were going ok. Now I got a lot of unanswered what if questions like what if I bored him, what if he like women that gave it up off the bat, what if he's interested in someone else, what if he felt threatened by me? what if?

If all the above are true, then I'm glad that nothing happened between us. But I really like him and wanted to get to know him. I know there other fish in the sea but I pretty sure somebody at some point was at the place wondering why. So maybe he wanted me to be a booty call, but if that's true, wouldn't he asked by now?

Scott Peterson in 2002 killed his 7 months pregnant wife Laci and dumped her body in the bay, Mark Hacking killed his wife in 2004 after lying about being enrolled in medical school and now Stephen Grant confessed to killing his wife last month and kept her torso in the family garage.

All of these men were SEEMINGLY great husbands, successful and charming. Next thing you know they snapped and became cold blooded murderers. Their wives, family and in-laws never would have suspected that they could act in such a gruesome manner.

How does one know if their husband or inlaws could be the same way? What did these men have in common that could be seen as warning signs to others? According to the victims' family and friends they had great relationships, no problems.

After they confessed to murdering their wives these men did admit that they didn't have a conscience, but nobody is going to admit this to their family/wife. How can you tell if your wonderful husband could be capable ?
