Actually, more people than you can imagine have comtemplated suicide; they will not admit it because it is not "politically correct". I don't know where you're from, but if you're from the U.S., then it is especially not acceptable to speak about it. We're the "Land of the Free, the Home of the Brave", but we're also the land of "good appearances", "keeping up with the Jones', and "never let them see you sweat". I know, I mixed some quotes there but it's appropriate. You probably have also heard that "suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem"; however, this one has a lot of merit.
One thing you need to start believing is that you should live for yourself. Quite often we get negative feedback from supposed friends and loved ones who only make us feel worse about ourselves. We have to take inventory of ourselves (first of all, be totally honest with ourselves) about the good and the bad qualities that we have within ourselves. We all have both, so don't just say to yourself "I'm a loser". I'm gonna switch pronouns now to what I said to myself as examples.
Am I really lazy? No, I have an anxiety disorder and the foremost symptom is lethargy. I have been told repeatedly that I'm lazy but they don't understand.
Am I rude and offensive? Yes, I am. I don't believe in pretending to be something. I believe in honesty, and I'm intelligent and opinionated. I realize that I have to conform somewhat to function in this society, so I've learned when to be frank and when to smile and nod.
We have to do this with every aspect about ourselves and then accept them. If we want to improve in some areas, then we start trying; if we don't think it's necessary, then we accept it and others will accept it, too. That's the weirdest thing about this...if we accept ourselves just the way we are, and then work on areas that we think we need improvement in, other people accept us, too.
This is a difficult question and I hope I haven't rambled on too much and have made some sense to you.
Your life is worth something, but you gotta believe that your life is worth something to YOU before anyone else.

I've never wanted to commit suicide, but I've had times in my life when I wanted to be dead. There's a difference. I would never take my own life because I don't want to be responsible for ANYONE'S death...including my own.
