at least once a week for the past 4 weeks or so ive been in bed and then i fall asleep, but im still able to tell that im dreaming. im half awake and half asleep but i still think my dream is happening but i also know its not so i try to wiggle around and wake myself up but it doesnt work. sometimes i think i moved so much i think fell off my bed then i wake up for real with my heart beating fast and thank god i finally woke myself up. i hate when this happens because i hate the way it feels, which is why i try to wake myself up. my question is if this happens to anyone else and how can i prevent it? sometimes when it happens and i finally wake up, i take a walk then i fall completly asleep but then back to the same problem another night. any advice and info on why this happens?

I am extremely shy & the fact that I never seem to work up the nerve to look people in the face is become ever more evident to me. Even if i hookup with someone, i noticed that i can't look the guy in the face (you are probably asking, if you are so shy how are you hooking up?...well im in college and alcohol is usually involved)
I also notice that it is WORSE after I get close to them, in the hookup scenario. I may be able to flirt a little, but then when it becomes clear about what may happen and after it does happen, then i can't look at their faces.
In general, if i don't know a person well i find it hard to look at their face. I work at a food service place and sometimes it is hard for me to look at the customer when i am handing them their change for instance.
I guess i am just afraid of what i might see if i have to look at them. I am afraid the facial expression will be negative.
Does anybody know what i am talking about? have experience? what about the hookup thing? help?

I don't know what to do or what is wrong with me? I am 49 years old and I just seem to be an *** all the time. But it's mostly to my wonderful, caring girlfriend, she is the best and I know it deep down but I sometimes forget and get angry at her for no reason. I seem to be stressed out about a lot of stuff. I have heard of mid-life crisis but is it real and what can I do to fix the problem? Thanks.

I visited a site and appered for a test the result told me

Your results indicate that your opinion of yourself is generally positive, but your sense of self-worth isn’t as strong as it could be. You sometimes put yourself down, falling victim to your own self-depreciating statements. An unstable sense of self-worth can result from a wide range of factors: perhaps you've recently gone through a particularly difficult period in your life, or you didn't get the support you needed from others when you were growing up. The important thing however, is not to figure out who/what is to blame; it is to recognize that it's now up to you to boost your self-image. There are certain attitudes and beliefs that have been found to contribute to and feed a negative self-image, and you appear to have some of them. Examples would be believing that you don’t deserve to be loved or respected, believing that you’re not good enough for someone, and focusing only on your perceived faults rather than good

She working two jobs also. i remember she ask for my whole check.not my brothers but me for my whole check.i gave her a portion but not the whole. And now she asked me a large amount that would hinder me from paying my bills becuz I got a sprint bill for $112, and credit card billl for $565.00, gym member ship bill for $101 and today is my birthday so I wanted to I wanted to get my hair done. I told mother," I wanted to get my hair done and I got bills to pay for." She said disregardingly and unconcern, "Thats what I need." I'm thinking to my self, how selfish she is. I know she need help but I got all these bills to pay for,And I do help her. I still dont got a car, and she is the MAIN one telling me to save my money. But as you know the saved person I am, I gave it to her. Am I wrong for feeling the way I do?

I am doing a class project on alcoholism. Not having anyone close to me suffer from it, I have trouble understanding sometimes. What I want to know, is if there is anyone out there who has suffered from alcoholism, sought help through AA or another form, and has been able to get back to a medium, such as a social drinker, or having a drink casually as most do without having any problems. OR do you need to not touch alcohol at all?

Also, the second part of our project, is determining if many are "Excused" from being seen as alcoholics simply because they are in college. So if anyone has thoughts as to the theory "You're not an alcoholic until you graduate" please let me know. We'd like to see if the amount an alcoholic consumes is comparable to that of your average college student.

THIS IS SERIOUS SO I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF THERE WERE NO JOKES OR BOGUS POSTS ON THIS MATTER

Thanks

BLONDES VS. BRUNETTES. As a natural born brunette gone platinum...and back to brunette again...

I've been treated noticeably differently as my hair color changes, and I'm interested in what's going on in that head of yours...guys and gals alike.

GENERALLY SPEAKING:

As a BLONDE, more doors are held open, I'm asked out more frequently, and my jokes are funnier...but no error goes un-noticed, my intelligence is questioned, and on more than one occasion, strangers have talked to me like I just graduated 5th grade.

As a BRUNETTE, people are more sincere, my advice is welcomed, and mistakes aren’t anticipated…but on the flip side of it all, I open my own doors, I buy my own coffee and if I have a flat tire, I wait 5 more minutes for someone to pull over.

It seems people are quick to critique others without even being aware of their judgment. How do you mentally regard people based on there appearance and why?

I am a college freshman male, and I am currently going through a lot of ****. I finished my first semester pretty strong, but this semester I am so struggling. I bombed all of my first exams: organic chemistry, multivariable calculus, and biology. Everything I thought I was pretty good at. I take my poor performance as a wake-up call and am trying to make some changes. I rearranged things in my room, hid everything that seems to distract me, and etc. However, I am so stressed out. I keep telling myself that I will literally kill the next exams, but the school is so full of hard-working ppl that I am sort of going crazy.
There are also other things that bother me greatly. I had a knee injury while doing squats in November, and it is still affecting my mood. And there is a girl of my interest, but things aren't working out the way I want them to be. For example, I was gonna ask her to lunch today, but she was sick and didn't come to class. I have to wait till next monday for counseling.

A lot of people don't accept me, & I feel so worthless & now, I just want to be left alone. I kind of want to break up with my boyfriend because of my mental illness, & me feeling worthless. I feel like I don't deserve him & that I'm not good enough for him. My family doesn't even accept me. I feel extremely depressed, & I think I'm about to have an anxiety breakdown & cry.
