Why is it important that a person have dreams in life? Like for example having a dream of owning a house someday.etc

Having a dream, or dreams...goals that you're passionate about...give your life purpose. It's because these kinds of goals are related to what's important to you personally.

For me, the dream is to publish a book about personal effectiveness. My life will seem even more meaningful to me when I accomplish that.

We all need these dreams to strengthen our resolve to go forward.
I had a very busy time, working full-time and going to college. When I felt overwhelmed, I'd stop, sit, and think about the house I would one day be able to buy as a result of my efforts. It paid off, and I had peace of mind during this busy time in my life.

Long term goals and Values are the reasons to ignore the urges to give in to immediate pleasures. Without Long term goals or values crime is the best path in life.

Anytime you you set a goal for yourself it is just the motivator that you will accomplish it not only that but you are looking ahead and trying most likely to improve. Nobody ever says I wanna be a junkie when I grow up.

To have something to strive for. Collaborating your thoughts together and making one giant one is great. People then have something to look forward to. If the dream is financial then it gives people an incentive to work harder for something important to them.

purpose, even though you failed reaching it, its still good, regrets and pains and frustrations will remind you how good was it back when you still have a dream, so theres no dull moment when you have a dream and afterwards when you achieve or failed to get it
