at least once a week for the past 4 weeks or so ive been in bed and then i fall asleep, but im still able to tell that im dreaming. im half awake and half asleep but i still think my dream is happening but i also know its not so i try to wiggle around and wake myself up but it doesnt work. sometimes i think i moved so much i think fell off my bed then i wake up for real with my heart beating fast and thank god i finally woke myself up. i hate when this happens because i hate the way it feels, which is why i try to wake myself up. my question is if this happens to anyone else and how can i prevent it? sometimes when it happens and i finally wake up, i take a walk then i fall completly asleep but then back to the same problem another night. any advice and info on why this happens?

The problem you have is that you have a lot of anxiety, and you are trying to deal with it in your sleep, if you don't deal with your anxiety, the dreams will become terrible nightmares. I know for I went through the same thing. You know what is bothering you so deal with it, start feeling positive about yourself. and also when you go to sleep at night don,t be frightened have courage to face any nightmare you may confront , and tell the nightmare you are no longer scared and look foreward to meeting it head on, then one day it will go away for ever. I know this may seem silly but I went through what you are going through and I will never let it happen again, face your own demons without fear. but the reallity of it all you are creating your own demons through your day to day anxieties. take care and be strong.

WEll that happens to me often too. It's really nothing. Just try to not think too much about it before your gonna go to sleep. RELAX.

Most of all don't try to wake up from your dream...can be hard!
