I don`t know who Pondlife is and in your case there maybe reasons for your position. Unfortunately in the Scottish Football section on Answers we have been taken over by Sectarian bigots who do nothing more than constantly post questions that have nothing to do with football and everything to do with antagonising Celtic or Rangers supporters. The only way to rid the section of these people is to violate them whenever they appear. It also has to be remembered that Answers is open to people of all ages and whilst you might think your section is an `Adult` section, you never know when a child might stumble in by accident or to do some homework research. If the sections aren`t kept within reasonable guidelines Yahoo will remove them and then everyone looses out.

chas chas might have a point. Yahoo has made it clear it doesn't want alot of goofy non-sensical Q&A on here. Most of the questions posted by pond-life were borderline at best.

I think Yahoo will address this after all the hubbub today and make it clear why some things that may not SEEM to be in violation actually are.

Then again, maybe the system is broken. We'll see...

In any case, I support Yahoo in their decision as long the guidelines are clear and I support all people who help enforce the rules through fair use of the 'report' feature. I really don't care how many people this pisses off.

The policies for this section are there for a reason.

I've run afoul of the rules and regulations and have paid the price, but there was NO misery or distress involved with me.

BTW, this is about the fourth time today I've seen this question. Repeated postings of the same question is also a no no.

violations should only be given to people who genuinely break the rules or who are extremely offensive. Yahoo needs to read and carefully consider everything reported before sending out violation notices.

I may not agree with a person's views, but I will defend their right to express them.

For those who don't understand whats happening take a minute to read this...

Anyone can report abuse on a answer or question .
the more violations you get yahoo Bar you and you lose your yahoo id maybe you chat to friends on messenger or use yahoo email after getting barred its gone the email and user name can't even access email addresses or friends on messenger ....
Some members have been getting all questions or answers reported they have been in the yahoo guidelines and because of a report of abuse they get deleted yahoo don't seem to read them and you get the chance to say your point when you get told of the violation and explain it wasn't abuse and you wait and wait and yahoo never gets back or fixes the error.
Think about if you lost your yahoo ID by someone being mean and spitefull how would you feel?
This is why loads are cross.

If you think programming Scheme is hard, I would not suggest trying a low-level language like C.

Well, if someone reports you and Yahoo bars you without checking into things, I think that's totally wrong.
