I don't know what to do or what is wrong with me? I am 49 years old and I just seem to be an *** all the time. But it's mostly to my wonderful, caring girlfriend, she is the best and I know it deep down but I sometimes forget and get angry at her for no reason. I seem to be stressed out about a lot of stuff. I have heard of mid-life crisis but is it real and what can I do to fix the problem? Thanks.

Yes, of course, they do. It is as if they are hit with 30 years worth of something like PMS.
You are aware that half your life is over, if you actually will make it to your 80's and you are overwhelmed. Truth is, you could check out tomorrow. If you are clinically depressed, even mildly so, it will take an MD to evaluate and prescribe medication.
Or, stop waiting and marry the girl, go cliff-diving for your honeymoon and make a couple of babies.

Yep! it's real. However, most symptoms include a new sports car, or cheating on a wife. Therefore, you may want to talk with a professional about what you're experiencing (could be some sort of anxiety disorder, or depression coming out in a weird way). What ever it is your right in being concerned. If you keep treating your girlfriend that way, you'll be tacking the prefix "ex" on the front of her current title. See your doc, describe what's going on, ask what's up, and if he's unsure, get a referral to a specialist. Maybe you need Rx for a short period.
