This is not to say that men don't seek relationships and women don't seek sex. I'm saying regular sex is more important to men and most men will deal with a horrible relationship just for the sex and most women wont.

Feminist always say there are no metal or emotional differences between men and women. But doesn't this sex issue prove otherwise?

e.g. My first memories of 'feminism' were back in the late 70s or early 80s and they had planted a bomb at a TV studio. I was a kid so it was all over my head.Later, another report about them infiltrating some beauty contest and they were seen verbally assaulting contestants & judges alike. My mom was somewhat feminist in her beliefs, and often watched shows with woman whining about men in general.
The word fell out of my scope for a while until I was in middle school and I looked it up in the dictionary. I read it was meant to be about equality. Despite my observations, I believed the dictionary definition (How often does the dictionary lie, normally?)
At that point, I became pro-feminist (I really liked the idea of equality and reading some of the stories compelled me to equality).
Then, I became a father - life changed. I was a good dad (inc. stopping my ex from backhanding our daughter for the crime of being 'under her feet')...

Why is there so much concern about women’s health and none especially focused on men when women leave on average more than 7 years than men do?

When women were supposed to submit to men, women were miserable, and men were a bit irrational (no offense men!) alot of the time treating women as property and taking advantage of them. Now, women are not as upset about their gender roles, and SOME men are more upset than they were, and I think that if equal opportunities were made for both sexes, and men and women could CHOOSE what role they wanted to play in the family, and just role with it, it would be SOOO much easier! Think about it. No pressure, just the equal opportunity to be yourself, not the feminist ideal girl, or the submissive ideal wife. I am sure that many would choose both, and there would be no problem. I think that many women feel like they have to be in charge of their lives when they don't want to, and that many women feel like they must "submit" when they don't want to. Does anyone agree?

Guys, what would stop you from approaching a woman you find attractive? Are there certain types of women you simply like to look at but just won't walk up to? What if those women approached you?

Well a common thing women say in what they find attractive in a man is one who is confident, kind and has a good sense of humor/funny and intelligence as well. So with that said, I was curious what combinations women like more or if it would be even or one favored overall than the other. So, what would you choose or prefer? A man who is brilliant, very knowledgeable, and witty and impressive with his intelligence, but has a moderate sense of humor. Or a man with a great sense of humor and is funny, but not overboard of course, as a man, especially comedians can be overboard. But the man has a great sense of humor and funny in the charming way that is very attractive, of course. But is of average intelligence. Not dumb, or unknowledgeable, but definitely not brilliant either and moderate intellectually speaking. Please don't be greedy and say both, lol, or don't say none either. For the sake of this question, if you had to choose one or the other, which would you choose and why?

Again, don't get me wrong, not trying to offend any women here but I'm curious.

How can one protect a young girl from feminism? I have a lovely young niece(she's 8) and I want to protect her from feminism. I don't want her to grow up and become a feminist. I don't want her being corrupted by feminism.

So what can I do to protect my niece from feminism? I care about her a lot.

What things - curses on society - should we get rid of forever? This question is inspired by Janice Long's night-time programme on BBC2. Please, no meandering or wishy-washy answers. I'll start off the list by saying:-
# The 'celebrity culture' and its celebration of nonentity and mediocrity
# Murdoch's Fox organization
# So-called 'political correctness'

And how do you deal with it?

I don't trust men when it comes to staying faithful. This is due to events that happened when I was a child, my relationships, and somewhat believing that there may be truth to the polygamous nature in men and being weak if it drops on his lap at the right time and place. I had to make peace with it though. So having accepted this as a possibility in any relationship, I try to keep the communication open, look out for warning signs of dissatisfaction, distance etc., even keep an open mind that I may have to let him go do his thing if we both agree on it. Finally, if everything fails, how to deal with it with minumum damage to my future children, them thinking any less of their father and their lives falling apart. I'd rather protect myself this way than going through the stress of being resentful towards men, getting controlling or living in denial of him (wanting to) cheating.

I'm curious how others deal with these things

what do you look for in a guy??

2007-12-27 09:29:18 · 23 answers · asked by Anonymous

Sure, any guy wouldn't mind having a nice car or a big house with cool stuff inside. It displays your wealth and power. But in the end, a guy just want's to grab a beer, relax and have fun with his buddies.

Women though are the ones who take money to the extremes. Their always shopping for new things and are constantly competing with one another (who has the bigger house, who has the best looking man, who looks more 'fat', who makes more money, who has more things, who looks more sexy, etc etc) Plus, we've all seen the news reports, heard the stories, we even see it happen on T.V. and in movies:

Women murdering their husbands, fathers, or some other relative so they can claim an inheritance

A guy just don't really care about that, well maybe he does, but guys typically aren't constantly competing with one another.

do you prefer a man who can take charge, do you prefer to be in charge or do you prefer absolute 50/50?

You can give percentages too. Ex. I want to be in charge 30% of the time etc.

If a random stranger gives your car a jump on the side of the road and you later see this person was killed in an accident on TV, would you mourn them?

You don't know them, but they helped you. Raj seems to think it's wrong to mourn someone you don't know. Even if they did something good for you. Kinda wondering what the general GWS think.
