he would tell me he doesn't know when he wants to get married. I learned not to depend on him because he would not be there for me when I needed him. I've always been there for him because I wanted to. Well my phone just got turned off and he is pissed at me because I didn't ask him for the money. I didn't want to ask him because I didn't want to feel like I owe him anything. Now he's talking about marriage and I'm getting cold feet, because I don't want to have to depend on anyone and he get pissed if I don't ask for help. I love him. I'm just used to just being there for him not the other way around. It's strange to me to have to ask him for money. I feel like I want to get married but sometimes I just want to be alone.

My mother's husband is a self proclaimed feminist. He even wears t-shirts that proclaim this about him. First let me say that I have no problem with the feminist movement or the people involved as long as they are not anti-man. This is my question. He is constently cutting me down for allowing my daughter who is 4 to play with barbies, dress up in toto's, wedding dresses and princess gowns. He saids I shouldnt let her play "house" or any other gender spacific roles. I thought feminisum was pro- women. Why is he constently trying to tell me I should make my little girl act like a boy? She plays soccer and climbs trees. It's not like I dont let her play rough. She has two big brothers so she is well rounded as far as her pretend play goes. So, does he just not get it or is it me who is confused as to what feminisum is? And how do I handle this, I really dont want his opinion anyway, but I want to keep the peace.

My spelling my be off, I removed my glasses... sorry.

"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the ***** is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the ***** population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." Margaret Sanger's December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts.

So I'm still on the fence about this abortion issue...pro-life or pro-choice...

Does abortion cause pain to the fetus/baby??

also if you are pro-choice or pro-life tell me why you are.

Thanks so much!!

Have the deletion monkeys been at work again? Just had two perfectly innocuous questions censored and wiped out by the thin skins again! They were "Are feminist attitudes confusing?" and "Why does the BBC promote feminism and political correctness?" To those who had given answers to either of these questions I apologize for the inconvenience.

Some people are wary of public displays of affection.
Others do not feel comfortable about nudity.
Many of us think long and hard about whether and how to declare affection.
Almost all of us consider the choice to have a physical relationship very seriously.

Have we perhaps become too introspective? Are we over analyzing the way we express ourselves?

To what extent do taboos around sexuality destroy opportunities for intimacy in relationships?

At first I said that I would never get married, then I said I would but I would not have kids, then I said I would have kids if I could afford a nanny, then I said no matter what but when I am like 30. Now I am 21 and would like to get married and have kids in like 5 years. These changes have come in the course of less than 1 year. Is this strange? Please don't be tooo mean!

It seems clear, especially on this forum, that there is often a great deal of resentment amongst some men towards women and vice versa.

What do you think causes it.

And is it justifiable to resent and entire gender, if so, why?

What causes Men and Women to Resent each other?

Can anyone confirm if she lost her job because of this comment? I believe she did not, which is no surprise as feminists remain unpunished for anything they do.

This is not a new issue, but you see knee-jerk reactions about men on here.
Perhaps prejudice? Perhaps because of other men's actions? Maybe because they disagree with you(if you don't agree with me, you must be wrong mentality or better described as Bush's "Either you're with me or against me" mentality)?
I do realize that some trolls may treat some women the same, but this is apart from trolls.

Feminism and masculism are two sides of the same coin. Are feminists basically anti-masculists? Are those who have been branded as "anti-feminist" and/or "misogynists" are actually just "masculist" and that many so called "feminists" are actually "anti-masculist" and "misandrists"?

Does anyone think the distinction is kind of silly anyway?

And how about this? What if the "traditional role of women" is overhyped as being "oppressive" and the "traditional role of men" is overhyped as being free and dominant? What if these supposedly "traditional male-instituted roles" were in fact established by women? It seems quite likely.

Because women's work is never done and is underpaid or unpaid or boring or repetitious and we're the first to get fired and what we look like is more important than what we do and if we get raped it's our fault and if we get beaten we must have provoked it and if we raise our voices we're nagging bitches and if we enjoy sex we're nymphos and if we don't we're frigid and if we love women it's because we can't get a "real" man and if we ask our doctor too many questions we're neurotic and/or pushy and if we expect childcare we're selfish and if we stand up for our rights we're aggressive and "unfeminine" and if we don't we're typical weak females and if we want to get married we're out to trap a man and if we don't we're unnatural and because we still can't get an adequate safe contraceptive but men can walk on the moon and if we can't cope or don't want a pregnancy we're made to feel guilty about abortion and...for lots of other reasons we are part of the women's liberation movement. ~Author unknown, quoted in The Torch, 14 September 1987

My husband and I absolutely howl in agony every time we see an ad on tv featuring a woman who fixes all the idiotic messes her stupid, slovenly husband gets into. The beautiful/smart/impeccably groomed woman and the stupid slob man are really ruining our network television experience! We may actually have to have a conversation, for heaven's sake!

When marrying a woman who has children, do you or would you consider the father's rights when it comes to the children?

Would you encourage a relationship with the father, instead of letting ego and selfishness control you to want to 'take over' as father?

Would you push and convince to allow the father joint custody even though you and your wife may lose financial benefits?

Would you attempt to stay out of the child's affairs when it is something that a father should make a decision on(involve the father in decisions)?
