Because women's work is never done and is underpaid or unpaid or boring or repetitious and we're the first to get fired and what we look like is more important than what we do and if we get raped it's our fault and if we get beaten we must have provoked it and if we raise our voices we're nagging bitches and if we enjoy sex we're nymphos and if we don't we're frigid and if we love women it's because we can't get a "real" man and if we ask our doctor too many questions we're neurotic and/or pushy and if we expect childcare we're selfish and if we stand up for our rights we're aggressive and "unfeminine" and if we don't we're typical weak females and if we want to get married we're out to trap a man and if we don't we're unnatural and because we still can't get an adequate safe contraceptive but men can walk on the moon and if we can't cope or don't want a pregnancy we're made to feel guilty about abortion and...for lots of other reasons we are part of the women's liberation movement. ~Author unknown, quoted in The Torch, 14 September 1987

Very little of this is actually true, but this paragraph is mainly composed of misconceptions people have about women. Very thought-provoking work.

Why do you wish you had said this? It is exactly the type of inflammatory statement that creates discord and enlarges the divide between groups rather than trying to find a middle ground.
Also note that it was written during the 1980's, towards the end of radical feminism. There is no doubt that at the time certain attitudes were different, but now so much of what was written about is protected by law and culture as to make it largely irrelevant

Someone's doing some serious whining. A more practical approach is to stop working when you're tired, turn down jobs that underpay you or are boring and repetitious, get another job when you're fired, do a better job at work than in front of the mirror, avoid/leave circumstances/husbands that beat you, say "f***off" to anyone who calls you a nympho or frigid or a lez or neurotic/pushy/selfish/unfeminine/weak, turn accusations around (men trap their wives with $), become an astronaut if you want to walk on the moon, say "f***off" to anyone who tries to make you feel guilty and call them selfish/judgemental for doing it.
I'm not saying the world is fair. If these are reasons you joined women's liberation, that's fine. Sometimes you have to whine to make people realize what's going on. But bottom line is, action's are louder than words.
Oh, and I think this quote is fairly out-dated. These things aren't nearly as much of an issue as they used to be.

And if you excessively complain about things that are non-existent, then you get quoted 20 years later.
"Because men's work is never done and is underpaid in large cities(relative to women) and we're the first to get fired and what physical labor we do while becoming disabled from it is more important than how we think it should be spent(Women buy or influence the purchase of 80% of all consumer goods[1]) and if a woman accuses of rape we automatically did it and even though statistically women hit men more we still are accused as being an abusive sex and if we raise our voices we're ******* and if we enjoy sex we're dogs and if we don't we're gay and if we ask the doctor too many questions we're neurotic and if we expect joint custody we have to fight for it and if we stand up for our rights we are misogynists and if we don't we get screwed over and if we want to get married we're accused of trying to control women (and women file 75% of divorces anyways)and if we don't we're selfish and because we can't get adequate hair replacement but women get compensated by the government for making babies and if we dont' want a pregnancy-too bad because men have no reproductive rights"'
But I don't want to complain.

She forgot to say that if a person does not grow up to be a decent person it's always the mother's fault. LOL.
Hey, I woke up in the U.S. in a nice warm home with plenty of food and a husband that loves me. I'm a happy person!

Sounds like Hillary Clinton, who has a voice like fingernails on a chalkboard, and wants to lecture us for 4 years as Reprimander in Chief.

You have the worst attitude I've ever seen, and you are miserable because of it.
I know a lot of women who are completely happy because of their great attitudes. We all, women and men, have to deal with difficult things in life. You are not special.
Don't let what other people have or haven't done determine your life. It's yours. Go live it and be happy.
